Hi

Just stopping in to say hi. I picked up my 2008 RDX brand new yesterday for $26,500. Im very happy with the deal I recieved! It doesnt have the tech package though but I wasnt too worried since my TL has it. The drive from the dealership to home was fun but Im excited to be able to drive it in the daylight today! Anyway, Merry Xmas!!!

Congrats!! You got a great price. Didn't even know there were any '08s left!!! I also bought an '08 non-tech this past June and paid about $28K. I really didn't need the GPS (I just use the GPS in my cell phone and attach it to the windshield with holder. Works well). The "base" stereo sounds awesome. More than good enough. And, I definitely don't need a backup camera.

Quick question folks. My TL realizes the difference between key 1 and key 2 as far as radio stations. I noticed that the radio station presets are the same no matter what key I use for the RDX. Is it possible that I have my preset stations with my key and my wife has the preset stations with her key or does the RDX not have this capability?

Confused, I have an '07, so I don't know the answer to your question, but having read Carbon's response, he sure seems defensive about his non-tech RDX. I'm thinking he may have tech envy and he's just trying to justify to himself why he didn't spring for the tech package. It's no big deal Carbon, you got what you got. If you don't like it, get another RDX or some other vehicle. Don't stew over it or pretend it doesn't bother you when clearly it seems to...

GOTTSPD.. No, I do NOT regret buying a non-tech. Honestly, I don't need a GPS and on a very, very rare occasion where I may want it, I just use my cell. Don't need a backup camera. Period. I will be honest tho and would like to have the tech sound system. But, I wasn't about to pay an extra $3K+ just for that as the other features that come with tech don't really interest me. The "base" stereo really does sound quite good and honestly is the best car audio system I've ever had. Sure, the tech audio is better but not justified for the price differential. There is always better... I know good sound as audio is kinda a hobby of mine and have a kick ass home theater system and the RDX base premium system cranks just fine.

Side note: If the difference between base and tech was a better engine or tranny or brakes or something then that WOULD seriously entice me to spend the extra $. But since the base and tech are exactly the same mechanically that's why I chose base and saved ~$3K or more.

I got my 08 RDX Tech for $26,500, but it had 4,000 miles on it. It looks like the tech package cost me miles instead of dollars so it was worth it to me. My wife likes having the back-up camera since we have children and she works with children. The upgraded TPMS is a little bonus as well.

What is upgraded in the TPMS vs. the base? Also, you say it had 4K miles on it. Was this a trade in or dealer loaner? If it was a loaner I'd cringe as loaners usually get the crap beaten out of them. If it was a trade in I wonder why the seller traded it with only 4K miles? I'm curious.

It was a Honda repo which was purchased at an auto auction. It sounded like a grandmother when I went in to the Handsfree link to delete the address book. I guess I could have called her friends and family and asked how she treated the car .

The upgraded TPMS is that it shows each tire's pressure instead of just showing if it is low.

My '08 Tech does not have different radio station presets as part of the memory settings.

Upgraded TPMS compared to what? My base ’08 RDX also shows PSI at all four corners plus low warning indicator. My aunts Hyundi Santa Fe only has a low warning indicator which, in my opinion, is almost useless as by the time it comes on you’re already in trouble. I like knowing exactly where the PSI is on all four tires at any given time.

I haven't seen the base RDX TPMS so I'm just going by what acura.com says about it. I just assumed the base was like what what my old Pilot was like.

Safety Features: "Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with location indicator"

Tech Package Features: "Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with location and pressure indicators"

I assume Acura is saying its TPMS is an upgrade to competitive manufacturers. The TPMS in tech and base RDX is the same. The only difference between tech and base RDX is obviously the NAV , backup camera, and slightly better audio with DVD-A capabilities. All else is the same.

I bought a 2008 RDX Non-tech in late November. There are still some 2008's floating around and you can get some great deals on them.
