Help with RDX purchase. 2007 or 2008?

I'm looking to buy a used RDX for my wife. We would like to buy a certified Pre-Owned one from a dealer for peace of mind.

There are currently 2 that are available near me and different dealers

One is a White 2007 with the Tech Package and 45113 miles. It's currently listed at $24990.

The second is a Dark Blue 2008 with the Tech Package and 39113 miles. It's currently at $27990. I have a friend that works for the same company that owns the dealership and he was able to find out that the lowest they will go on it is $26575 out and around $27844 out the door.

I would really like to be around $25000 out the door, but I'm not sure if that is possible with a certified pre-owned (since they seem to sell for more)

I haven't neg. price on the first one yet but I will definitely try for $25000 out the door.

My question is, should I pay the extra for the 2008 with 6000 less miles. If the dealer on the first one doesn't come down on price, it looks like around $1600 for the newer one.

Thanks for the help

i say get the 07 if you dont mind the "slightly" higher mileage. not much changed between the 07 and 08 models except for a softer suspension from what i have read. so to me, that is the "same" car minus the suspension, have i driven an 08 to compare the ride qualities? no....i sya test drive them both and see which one you prefer. i would also check to see if both cars have had all the recalls performed....(front wiper motors in particular....they can go crazy after some time during operation) other than that, the choice is yours. check for signs of accidents too! interior wear n tear etc. reliabilty wise, the RDX is pretty solid!

The '08 did add a few features (driver's memory seat comes to mind), and I think the dark blue is a far, FAR superior color on the RDX over white.

Should I be concerned with the 2007 since it was the first year model?

I haven't seen the Blue in person yet, Only pictures. I was wondering if it was a "nice" color. thanks for the input

How about the prices? High?

I've never driven the '08, but the dealer told me that 90% of the lease returns on the '07's complained about the harsh ride. I love my '07. The only thing it is missing IMHO is the 2 person memory for the drivers seat, its a pain finding the right position after every time the wife drives it (like this morning). Mileage is not a factor on a Honda. Brother-in-law's neice is driving our old Accord with 215,000miles.

EDiT: As for the first model year, there are some minor issues like rattles and squeeks that were addressed. Turn up the music

I would get the 2008, since it has memory seats. In fact, this is a deal killer for me, as my wife and I often drive the same car, and I'm tired of adjusting the seat each time.

2008 also has standard auto dimming mirror.

My 07 is up with the most reliable vehicles I have ever had...
Ingegra, IS300 and RDX... about 16 years of driving those 3 vehicles with nothing but batteries and tires ever replaced. I guess I replaced oil & filters too... so nothing but regular scheduled maintenance... I take that back. I had a cracked key-fob replaced under warranty by Lexus.
Memory seats (missing in the 07) would be nice. I do agree they skimped there... BUT it wouldn't be a deciding factor.

The memory seats also adjust the side mirrors for the driver. That comes in handy when it is dark outside.

It really comes down to color and which one feels the best while driving.

Out of all of the Acura vehicles, it seems the RDX had the least amount of 1st model year problems. I took my time and looked for a used 2007 or 2008 RDX because I wanted the Moroccan Red Pearl with taupe. Go for the one you like the best regardless of price. The wifey loves her little red rocket and that is worth a few extra bucks on the car payment.

go with 2008, they seen to some of the complaints received on the 07 model which was: stiff ride, heavy steering, lack of memory seats and i think auto trunk release? I do not however think this car is worth 28k, no way. $25,500 is the right value.

"firm ride and tighter steering response' to some are reasons WHY to look at an 07... All in the eye of the beholder...

...or the ass of the test-driver...

Get the '07 and use the money you saved on some 19s or 20s...
