Good Deal?

Hi Guys, I just want to see if you guys can give me some inputs. There is a 2008 RDX w/ Tech with 31,000 miles for $23,000 plus taxes. Unfortunately it won't be an Acura Certified since it's a Honda Dealer (that's what he said). However, he said he can give me a warranty that would include as much coverage as a certified Acura.

My question is, do you think that's a good deal?
Is 2008 RDX realiable? Any problems?

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated!

I'm currently driving a Celica GTS 2000 and I'm really reallly tired of it! I have this car for almost 11 years and I'm so ready to try something new.

hey where are you from. not canada by any chance? anyway that price seems reasonable to me for such a low mileage. and yes acura rdx is a very reliable vehicle.

Check out this thread that lists prices paid: https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-rdx-2007-2012-147/rdx-owners-sign-680437/

Just look at the more recent posts for used RDX's. For comparison I just paid $25,500 for a certified 2008 RDX with Tech and 25,800 miles. I feel I got a very good deal so obviously you did well too. Not sure how much the "certified" tag is.

Price is good.
Isn't the warranty transferable? I think they're telling you it isn't, because they wanna make more money by selling you their own extended warranty, which is trash, because it's usually from a third party, has deductibles, cost an arm and a leg..., just buy it as is, you shouldn't have any problems with it for a long time as long as you change the fluids frequently, which can all be done by yourself.
Search the Acura website to see if the original warrany is transferable, and get the Carfax with the Vin# to see if you'll be the second owner, or third, or if it was in an accident...

not a bad deal, considering my 08 w/50k miles has a KBB value of 24,500, and its the base model.

I think the Acura “Certification” just does a bump-to-bumper inspection, all scheduled maint, technical service bulletins maint, and replaces things like brakes or tires if they are under a certain %. They still get their money back by making the buyer pay for the certification and the extended warranty.

You still have another year and 19,000 miles with the factory warranty on the 08 RDX. I would still take the vehicle to a trusted mechanic or Acura to make sure everything is 100%.

@Pickler, I'm from PA.

I tested drove the RDX today and I didn't like it. I think something was wrong with the car. I floored the RDX to test out the turbo and I saw the turbo gauge shoot all the way up but the car didn't feel like it wanted to move. It smelled like cig. smoke, two dents which I didn't mind but the Acura badage was gone on the trunk. It was a bust! No wonder they're selling it for $23k. I swear when I test drove the 2010 RDX (my co-worker has one), that thing goes! And I certainly didn't feel like that today! Ahhh, I guess I just have to keep on looking.

Perhaps the air filter was all clogged up, go back and check it again and look at the air filter.

that's strange probably someone pumped regular grade fuel in that thing and engine retarded the timing. happens with dealership cars sometimes since they are used as courtesy cars once in a while and ppl don't wanna spend on premium.

when i floor my rdx everyone 'notice', including the people outside the car as well

If you floor it, it should "go" and quick. Sounds like too many things are wrong with this car. What kind of idiot dealer doesn't spend a few bucks to replace a missing emblem?
