Gas Mileage

Hi: new to the forum and considering purchasing a 2009 RDX AWD, but have concerns regarding the gas mileage. EPA has it at 17/22 and I have read it can be considerably less. Any numbers you would like to share? I really like the car. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

if you are concerned with mileage, maybe you should try looking at an other vehicle, non-turbo

Thanks for the input...still trying to decide..I do mostly city driving - 12 miles round trip for work..with the rising price of gas, I may have to reconsider this purchase

We bought our 2007 Tech on Memorial Day and have averaged 18.47 mpg. We've put on 4,000 miles with almost a 50/50 split between city and highway driving.

It doesn't like cold weather, city driving however. Our last four tanks produced 15.33, 16.04, 15.02 and 13.56 mpg (mostly 10 mile round trips to work).

17-18 in city and 20 on hwy... driving it to enjoy it.
If I baby it and intentionally not engage the turbo, coast to lights, etc...I can get 23 or so... but what's the point?

How many licks does it get to get to the center of a tootsie pop? Do you really want to keep licking it, or do you want to bite down on it badly?

I havent had my RDX that long, but so far I seem to be getting fairly decent gas milage. I do mostly city driving, and have a heavy foot, but managed to be getting about 20 MPG. If I add some highway mix into it it jumps to about 23. I think it is quite easy to get relatively decent milage if you watch your boost gauge. But if MPG's are important to you, I would consider a car or an SUV with a lesser engine such as a 4 cyl equinox that gets up to 600 mi on a tank.

I average around 20.8 in the summer and 18.8-19.8 combined in winter with my RDX with the Hondata reflash (60% hwy/40% city).

The 2010 FWD RDX does get 19/24. I like the styling of the 07-09 compared to the 10-11 models.

Getting around 15-16 in the city during the cold northeast winter we are having and 22 on the highway when I hit NYC from Boston. Summer I see better MPG.

I get on average about 250 miles to a tank....With a tank costing on average about $55 bucks. Kind of sucks seeing as my s2000 gets over 300 easy to a tank and cost 35 bucks to fill up.

still horrible with a civic, they can get 30+ (but considering it was S/C actually not too bad...)

i have an 07 and was getting around 17 city and 21 hwy and 325 miles to a tank of gas, i've driven it for about 8000 miles and i just got it reflashed and noticed for the first time my mpg's on hwy went up to 25.5 on cruise control @60 mph, pleasantly surprised but i have to say it is very hard not to put the pedal down and give her some boost! " THIS RDX IS AWESOME!"

the issue with boost, it's so addicting, and your gas mileage takes a turn for the worst when you do boost , but so addicting though

15.4 mpg average

You might be able to get low 20s if you are really careful and never speed and drive like a 80 year old woman,? you will get 15-17mpg and a big smile to boot!

my 07 gets around 18 with a mix of old lady driving and fun driving. I am still in the mindset of my old del sol getting 35 mpg in the city god i miss that car. After getting the K&N short ram on i don't even look at the trip computer anymore on the navi. I just drive and fill up when i am at a 1/4 tank or a little more. Like others have said what is the point of having a sporty car if you can't enjoy it? And if the extra 10 or 15 bucks a week is really going to kill you then you shouldn't have bought the car to begin with.

I just purshed a 2011 awd with tech in Las Vegas. Following me in my truck. Driving thru Las Vegas on city streets getting on I15 north to Beaver filled the tank she averaged 23 mpg, up hill most of the way giong over a pass 6500 ft. Drove from Beaver Utah to Ogden Utah filled the tank again she averaged 27mpg. We never went over 65. GRAMS.
