Question Exhaust System

Got a new prob with my 1GEN RDX, getting a rattling, ticking noise when i let me foot off the gas, coming from the area of the first catalytic converter, took it to a mechanic and he told me the gasket is bad, What is the name of the gasket between the cat and the manifold?

Get a 2nd opinion. Usually the off-throttle rattle is a sign of the actuator bolt wearing out. You can also take a peek at it yourself - it would be visible from just popping the hood. Assuming it is the bolt, most likely within the next few months you'll throw a P2263 code.

Below is a link showing some video of a worn bolt in action, but the whole thread is full of good info.

Could also be the heat shield, make sure that's not loose/rusted off. did he take off the exhaust to examine the gasket?? https://www.oemacuraparts.com/v-2010...t-pipe-muffler gaskets could be found here if that is indeed the culprit.

I had to change my catalytic converters heat shield upper and lower for the same reason. Waste of money the noise went away but then I went atlp and rv-6.
