ummm... I don't understand this post at all... why would you want a RDX ECU in your Acura Sedan (TL or TSX?) ... RDX ECU is for turbocharged engines, and your sedan probably isn't?

a "spare" ecu is the computer that controls the whole car, including security. thus, the ecu must be coded to match your key, otherwise it wont start. also, if this were not the case, a thief could steal your car (circumventing the key code security) just by replacing the ecu.
Yes, only a dealer can do this.

If you want to reflash an extra RDX ECU, you will need to get the dealer to program it before hand. If you buy their pre-programmed ECU, the immobilizer is turned off, so it can swap to any RDX.

So therfore we would like to know if you have to carry the vehicle to the dealer with the new ECU for them to do it OR can you just carry the ECU and your key for them to program!? Without having the vehicle present!
