Cup holder insert

Hi,

When I bought my RDX, it didn't come with rubber inserts for the cup holder area. I am just wondering, does it come with any from the factory? Are any available? One of the cup holders is too small for my bottle and the other is too large and the bottle rattles in both spots and drives me mad.

I tried a parts look up and I think I found something, but looks like I have to buy the whole cup holder assembly so not sure if it is the right part I found.

Just to be clear, I am talking about the cup holders next to the shifter.

Thanks

I'm assuming you have a pre-MMC RDX. For the MMC, they added a rubber insert at the bottom of the cup holder. It doesn't really make any difference in holding cups any better but it does make the bottom soft-touch and does look a little nicer.

Yup pre mmc. Do you have a pic of this insert? I was hoping it would at least dampen the bottle and prevent the annoying rattles. Really crappy cup holders for something so sporty. Can't hold cups for crap.

Any pics? These have to be some of the worst cup holders ever. No rubber and no prongs on the side to hold the cup in.

Thank you for this. Sucks that I can't just order the part that I need. Wish they would have made useful cup holders.

I believe you are asking for the "mat" item numbered 63 p/n 77231-STK-A01
Find Acura Parts and Acura Accessories by Car Model - Bernardi Parts

It does not line the sides, it merely covers the bottom.

Yeah exactly! Part number 63. I understand it only covers the bottom, but it might prevent some irritating rattles from my water bottle. Really hate the design. Obviously not a deal
Breaker, but very poor design, why would they not make some sore of rubber grips on the sides?

The bottom insert would probably help a little with rattles. It won't make any difference with holding items any better. I think it's pretty cheap, so I would just buy it. It drops right in.

Yeah I think I will just buy it as well. It would help a lot with rattles. I realized yesterday why I am having so much issues putting bottles in the cup holder. It is because they tapered it down. Instead of keeping it the same width all the way down. They also omitted bottle holders in the door bins (the one time where I would have actually used them). I found this bottle with a tapered bottom, it fits almost perfectly.

I think the reason the cupholders suck so much is because there are no grabby "fingers" that form around your cup. My coffee mug just wobbles and moves about every time I brake and accelerate. I would never trust an open cup in there.

THIS EXACTLY!

I was thinking to myself the other day, they built this thing to be very very sporty and turned off a lot of people, then they turn around and give us cup holders that have zero support in corners. Not only are there no grabby fingers, they also have a taper to them that makes it hard to put round cylindrical shaped cups in there.
