Considering used - 2007, 08 09 differences? & SH vs VTM-4

1st post. Been thinking about an RDX ever since test driving one last summer. Anyway - the CPO route is looking attractive to me. From browsing around I've found the following differences - what else am I missing? I'm leaning toward the tech version (sick on my tom tom sliding off the dash or falling off the windshield).

2007 - 2008 - memory seat, power passenger seat, "softer" suspension. Blue tooth standard on non-tech.

2008-2009 ???? Any difference?

Completely different question - How does the SH AWD system stack up vs. the VTM-4? My wife has a 2004 Pilot (no VSA). I am running Nokian Hakka snow tires on it. In the snow & ice, I've found that it will start moving no problem, but understeers quite badly. More disconcerting is it's desire to fall off the side of the (highly crowned) back roads of Maine (basically behaving like a front drive car). On paper the SH system sounds much improved vs. the VTM-4. How is it in real world? Does the stability control negate any differences?

Don't quote me on this, but a year ago when I was comparing the 2008's and 2009's, the two major differences from Acura's site was funtionality with power passenger seat, and they downsized from a full-sized spare to a doughnut in 09. But I am not axactly sure. Someone else may be able to clarify.

If I were you I would buy the 2010 for the auto-on headlights and USB attachment.

I think you hit the nail in the head.....I would go for the newer model because of the seat memory and probably low miles. I would also go for the non-tech version; I own a tech version and (now that I know the car better) don't think it was worth the extra money. Having said that, if the price difference is not that big, go for whatever feels right.....OR spend that extra money for a premium aftermarket navi with good suction cups , Navi is the only difference between the tech non-tech after 08-09?

I have a small spare in my 07, so I don't knot what you are talking about.....

yea there was never a full size spare.

depending on the price gap from non-tech to tech, that would be the deciding issue; ive always felt that unless you were looking at the 07, the tech pkg in the RDX is worthless and very overpriced, i think the base stereo sounds better, and other than the navigation, you really arent getting anything that cant be had in the base from 08+....price will dictate value. but yea, there is a value to onboard nav, those little fuckers fall off the dash, ive also noticed that the mat you can put them on instead of the suction cups leaves marks (footprint) on the dash and i had a tough time getting it off.

I would say one of the only two major differences in the tech vs. non-tech. The other is the stereo system. BUT you HAVE to listen to dvd-music to appriciate it.
Also, I have a subwoofer in the back of my tech. I don't know if the non-techs have it?

I wasn't quite sure, thanks for clearing up, but that was from Acura's site that I had compared the listed specs side-by-side and that is what I found. The website was wrong.

hazmat - Me personnally I went for the 2010 because of the redesign, also the head lights and usb I had mentioned earlier.
The redesign because of resale, in 5-6 years when you go to sell it only one other redesign would have come out and it will be easier to sell privately. Where as if you get an 09 then it will be two body styles different and look like a much older car, buyers take that into consideration.

Also on a side note, the damn navi interface sucks and 60%-70% of the places you want to find aren't listed. Am I glad I got the tech package? Yes, but I am not satisfied for what I paid for it.

vtm4 is an automatic 4wd where you have the ability to lock the rear differential for low gearing, sh is an awd system that does not have low range 4wd. its more of a performance awd system. It will still drive good in the snow and the vsa keeps you straight, it has saved me a few times in my mdx while in the snow.
