Are broken control arms covered by the warranty?

So here's the story. I was driving down the highway, then i hear a loud bang, and then metal scraping the ground. I hit the guard rail but got the car to come to a complete stop. The front rim is totally gone, and I can't even put a spare on it, because it's tilted outward. So, would it be covered under warranty? and should I bring it to an Acura Dealership? Anyone have any experience with their shops?

Depends on the "actual issue". Of course, they will have to investrigate and determine the cause of this "control arm" failure. Why dont you take it in to Acura and get their input? Who else can you take it to, especially when there's a warranty, if covered?

If determined that a manufactures defect was at cause with no abuse or improper operation, then it should be covered under warranrty.

I'm guessing it probably depends whether the control arms failed and that caused you to hit the guard rail, or if you hit the guard rail first, and that caused the control arms to get bent up. It would either be your Acura warranty or you auto insurance that should cover this. Sort of a chicken and egg issue...

they could fight this, but worth a shot i mean if the control arm was completely broken then i doubt hitting the gaurd rail will do this

Could you please provide more information about your vehicle as far as year, make, model, miles, road and weather conditions, and speed at the time of the incident?

It's a 2008, Tech, got it in January around 5400 miles. Road conditions were dry, I was going 60mph in the slow lane. The dealer is going to assess it today. I'll give you guys an update later.
