Recently installed an after market intake. After installing, i'm no longer hitting full boost. Checked connections to make sure there weren't any boost leaks. Boost will only to to halfway mark on the "boost gauge". Only happened after intake was installed. Seems luggish too.

Purchased intake from ebay and added an extra piece to get further into fender.

 

if the MAF housing is a different diameter than stock it will screw up the airflow reading in the ECU. This needs to be tuned with flashpro.

 

the maf housing is wrong size. cheap parts don't work. sell it and put the stock back on.

This isn't a '93 civic; why put cheap generic parts on a fairly complex, high performing engine?

Get the right thing (CPE or K&N), or don't bother.

 

don't waste your money with intakes. even with MAF scaling on flashpro you will still suffer from inaccurate reading and spikes in MAF. use money for intake on downpipe or exhaust where you will get real gains.

 

this from a guy who drives a Subaru...which are notoriously finicky about intakes due to the design of the intake piping. I think I said something about this in another thread.

 

I'm also a subaru, issue isn't with the intake. Removed and put the stock one back on. Issue is still there.

Only 2 items were done during this time, starter replacement and intake installation. I'm thinking there may be a loose hose some where.

No not yet. swapped on the stock and still the same issue.

 

Reset the ecu by pulling the negative cable. Just swapping back to stock won't do it. The maf / ecu needs to relearn.

 

That was the first thing I did after installing both aftermarket and stock.
