Question Battery discharging anyone?

Is it me? or does the battery in the RDX seems a bit smaller than what it should be?.....here is the thing, I have "killed it" at least 4-5 times in about three years, not to the point that the electronics don't work (well maybe once), but to the point that the engine does not crank.
My latest incident was today and the culprit was the trunk light. I left it open for a few hours, say 3-4 hours. Is that enough time for a small light like that to kill a battery?
I will make it a point to have the dealer check the battery and alternator the next time I am in their vicinity, but in the meantime, what do you think? any similar experiences?

there were battery problems in the 07 - there were TSB's for it, not sure of what the specific issues were

Yes - stereo amp not shutting off.. I took mine in about 6 month after purchase due to a dead battery. They changed the battery and the amp and I am still on that battery (and batteries don't last long here)

Hondas are also known to have pretty weak batteries. The TSX is prone to this as well. My 1G always cranked pretty long on the original battery, and it didn't take much to run it down.

Killing it 4-5 times in 3 years probably didn't help it much but they just aren't designed to last long with out the engine running. The typical life of a showroom car battery is about 2 weeks before it's dead and I mean the seats won't even move dead, enter radio code. This is mostly from people adjusting the seats and on MDX and ZDX using the power lift gate as we make a point of it to turn all the cabin lights off to prolong the battery as long as we can. Most of the detail shops I've worked with make a point of it to turn off the interior lights when detailing as they will have the doors open for hours.

I would agree that the battery is not the best. I have a 2008 RDX (so the issue with the 2007 models does not apply) and I just had to get my battery replaced after 29,000 miles (and two weeks after my 30k service). So far, I have to say the build quality of the car leaves much to be desired. :/

No, it doesn't and that is just another (expected) ignorant statement from you.

I believe that jpd meant two different things. One commenting about his battery life, and the other one how he feels that the RDX is leaving people wishing it was built better. I am in that boat and so is Mmike....and the last thing he is, based on his participation on the forum, is "ignorant".

I think the battery is tad bit weak for the RDX, 440CCA (I beleive) my other two honda's which have the same battery size as the RDX are 600+CCA. You can feel the difference in the harsh winters we have here. RDX struggles to power up where as my other two honda's turn on without an issue and both of them have high mileage (my prelude is at 212K and the accord at 150k).
