Anyone Using their RDX to tow?
Anyone Using their RDX to tow?
Hello,
I am looking at purchasing a new RDX, but I am looking at purchasing something to use to tow my Motorcycle (2006 Suzuki GSXR 750 - Roughly 360 lbs) or possibly 2 Sport Bikes. I know the RDX is rated at 1500 lbs, but 4Cylinder and Towing don't seem to go together in my head.
Wondering if anyone here can help me without with personal experience towing with their RDX. How did the RDX handle the weight, any struggling? Pick up still good from a head stop? Going up hill?
Thanks In Advance.

For trackday?
One bike should be fine, two bikes may be pushing it. I think you'd definitely notice the extra weight. especially if you have a car load too. Figure 800 lbs for two bikes, plus trailer weight, plus 4 people and cargo. The gross combined vehicle weight rating is 6394lbs, so you should be well under that, but close to approaching that with a full load. With two bikes, two people and just a little cargo you should be fine. With 260 ft-lbs of torque, towing should be pretty good in the RDX.

RDX towing experience with utiity trailer
I have been using a small utility trailer with my RDX. It is not even noticable until I got a yard of barkdust in the trailer, and even then it was only barely noticable. It works just fine, but I do tame it down a bit with the trailer in the corners.
