Accessories?
Accessories?
Does anyone know if its a good idea to have accessories put on a garage/friends as opposed to an Acura dealer? I am confused I just got my the RDX and I bought accessories online at half the price of what the dealer was giving me.
I just peformed the installation for both of these myself.
The running board installation is very straightforward.
The roof rack is a bit more difficult - primarily because you have to delicately remove the molding on each side. The instructions show the use of a special plastic removal tool, which I did not have. I wound up working my way from the back of the vehicle to the front (opposite of the instructions) - once I got to the windshield section (which for me was the toughest part), I found it easier to slide the molding off (pull back towards the rear). The molding must then be accurately cut into sections according to the instructions. While they recommended a hacksaw, I had much better luck with bolt cutters. The last tricky detail was with the securing of the cross bars. My front cross bar was a bit too short, and it took me a few minutes to realize that they can be extended slightly by loosening the screws on its underside and sliding the cap piece outwards.
