I want to replace the really crappy 921 bulb in the 3rd brake light.

I've been looking for a really high powered red LED replacement... which is the easy route, I'd rather take.

The other option is to make my own LED strip to place in the current housing.

Has anyone done anything like this?

 

I was looking into this as well but it seems just making a custom housing is the best bet for us. When I am sound deadening the truck I will take pics and let you know how it goes.

 

I ended up just replacing the stock halogen bulb for a LED from VLED. Much brighter!
