2010 RDX Tech - Opinions

Hi Folks ,

I drive a 2007 RDX Base model now and it is close to 150k KMS (in canada).
Im trying to upgrade. The dealer threw two options , a 2010 RDX tech with 50K Kms and extended warranty and a 2013 lightly used RDX .

2010 RDX was $26K with 3% acura finance
and 2013 was $35K

I have a few questions,
What are changes to the 2010 model in terms of suspension, turbo lag , fuel effciency etc ..., is it worth doing the upgrade ? I love the the fact it comes with bluetooth , usb,power passneger and rearview camera as standard.

What is the ideal trade-in value for 07 RDX. THe car is very clean.
Also has anyone got a good trade-in values for the 07 RDX ,


Is 2013 powerful enough compared to the 1st gen models. The 1st model was real fun to drive.

2013 i believe has the auto lift gate too plus the passanger mirror that folds down when backing up (2010 model has it as well) not sure on other things

Powertrain is the same 2007-2012 (the intake was modified but that is it).


2007-2012 = turbo
2013 = V6, no turbo

My 09 RDX's passenger mirror folds down when backing up. This feature isn't new.

^^^That only happens when the mirror adjust is switched to the passenger side

I see that 2010 has standrd usb and bluetooth . But was wondering if thers any refinement to the engine . By the way what you think is the trade-in i should get for a 2007 Base Rdx ?

I'm the happy new owner of a 2010 with the Tech package. Initially we were looking for a 2009 because I like the looks better, and to save a little $$. But after test driving a couple, the suspension changes in the 2010 make it a much better ride. Still sporty but not as stiff as the 2009 and earlier.

The standard USB is slick (we have a thumb drive connected) too. Also I think they added a tray for the center compartment.

If you like a turbo and want to have more options for power, the 2012 and earlier is the way to go. Also, the SH-AWD is far better than the AWD on the 2013, imho.

now if there was some way we could get a 6th gear in the auto tranny for the earlier years we would be set =)

1) There is no major changes in powertrain between 2007 Tech and 2010 Tech. The only change in suspension is that 2010 is a little bit softer. That's it. Same 240 hp / 260 lb/ft of power.

2) Bluetooth, rearview camera, folding passenger mirror all this was available even in 2007 Tech. In 2008 they've added driver's seat memory, in 2010 power passenger seat and USB. However you can add USB support to the previous versions by installing OEM USB module.

3) Since 2013 RDX has a V6, it brings you more smooth power curve and overall more predictable power output. 2007-2012 RDXs biggest issue was turbo lag due to heat soaking TMIC. RDX 2013 is as fast as 2007 but more predictable, smooth, comfort and quite than 2007-2012.

I purchased a 2010 RDX tech about a month ago. I did an Acura CPO. So far I am very impressed. I had been a loyal Honda customer for 20 years but felt like the interior fit and finish was suffering.

I drove a 13 also. I just could not pass up the deal on the CPO. It was first used car and they made me feel like I was buying new!

Congrats on your purchase! I came from owning several Hondas over the years and have always been happy with their quality and reliability. I turned to Acura to get some nicer features, better interior, and of course the turbo engine!

Having gone to an Acura dealer for maintenance I was extremely happy with my treatment. I had a dedicated service manager, and the dealership waiting rooms were great. A big step up from Honda or any other dealer I've been to.

Talking about CPO. Do you know what is the standard set by Acura to pass their certification for Brakes,Rotor and Tires ???
