2007 RDX air conditioning problems
Hello,
As the weather turned warm this year and we tried using the AC in our 2007 Acura RDX, we noticed that it wasn't blowing out cold air - just warm.
I replaced the starter in the car over the winter and cant remember if I moved any of the AC related stuff out of the way to gain more access to the starter...I suppose it's within the realm of possibilities.
I went and got a recharge tank from the auto parts store and put the whole thing in according to the directions. I don't know if the gauge on the charge bottle wasn't working right but the level didn't really change much before/after the fill.
It does sound like the AC system "clicks" and attempts to come on. The fans fire up and stop shortly thereafter (see video below). Also, the engine "shudders" a bit when the AC attempts to kick on...I dont think it did this prior to the recharge, at least not as severely.
I don't know if the system is still too low on refrigerant and it won't cycle on due to low pressure or what...or maybe another problem. I checked the fuse in the car fuse box and it was good. I ran the "self diagnostic test" (see video below) and don't believe it returned an error. The vents cycle between floor to mix to dash correctly. Just blows warm air.
Does anyone else have any thoughts as to what I should check before I take it to a shop? I'm hoping it's just low on refrigerant and needs a full charge and I don't have to start replacing parts and things like that. The RDS has 93K miles on it now, all original as far as I know.
Thanks!

If you're pretty comfortable/confident in your mechanic skills, you should read bit359's thread and give it a try: https://acurazine.com/forums/diy-faq...ressor-862720/
I was having the same issue as you, I read and performed all the checks and ended up having a pretty bad coil. I got all the parts from amazon (I also replaced the clutch assy, it was already removed and looked worn so why not), removed and replaced said items and it's been amazing cold since then!
