I ended up getting the '07. Couldn't see the value in spending a couple thousand more for an '08.

I hear ya there missjennieb. I was just wondering as you said the "ride was smooth" and I'm sure I don't need to tell you about all the phantom '07 vs '08 suspension myths.

At first I was frustrated about no one knowing the true answer to the suspension. I just read jcbridges post about the part #'s being different in the front. Now I just think this whole thing is funny.

Have fun with your new RDX. I can't wait to join the family of RDX owners. I'll just say one thing. I'm really, really glad I found this community. All of you guys have saved me so much time by answering my questions and being patient. Otherwise I would have had to find out myself. Plus, it's nice to know that when I but the RDX I have a "family" to fall back on with future questions.

Thanks,
Paul

Yea I've been keeping in tune with all the suspension discussions, but honestly, I don't even notice it when I drive. The ride is much smoother than my previous car, a 2000 Accord. Granted it had some mods done to it, it was a very rough ride! Like many other people say, softer suspension has to be traded for the sports performance that the RDX provides.

When do you plan on getting your RDX Paul?

With the minor improvements in the 08 RDX, I think the better deal is the discounted 07 RDX.

And it's going to be so much fun once winter rolls around too! The audio system is awesome I love to blast my music while driving.

Not sure if I'm going to do any mods yet. I inking to get the front underbody spoiler to give it some aggressiveness.. And I'm also looking for some cool rims to put on it.. And I'll have to get the 2 front windows tinted.. Geez the list keeps getting longer and longer!
Congrats on your RDX purchase. Glad to see another CO rdx owner! I'm looking at going to some diff. whells also. I don't usually like chrome, but the 19" OEM Acura one's look cool. Saw some on an MDX this weekend & they look great. May get some for Christmas!

missjennieb - I'm looking to buy in October. Just waiting for that big bonus from work and it's all mine. I live in Boston and they're not selling like hotcakes so I should get a good deal on an 07. I'm driving a 97 Honda Civic LX right now which I've had for 8 years. So it's time to move on and UP!!!

hey guys, i also placed a deposit on a 07 rdx today!!! yay~
really appreciate the information you guys share (especially the $1000 cash incentive). I ended up getting mine for $34k + a few exterior accessories worth close to $1k.

BUT now that i'm back home I realized that I missed an accessory when I asked the dealer to price-match...it's a REAR BUMBPER APPLIQUE...not an expensive accessory ($67) but I'd still like to get it at no extra charge. What you guys think my odds are at getting that added for free? If unfortunately the dealer decides to be a jerk now that i've paid the deposit, does anyone know what the employee's discount on that part is?

can anyone also comment on the effectiveness of the applique?

Thanks

I really like the 19" Silver Sparkle rims, they're so pretty I have a silver RDX, so they would look sweet on it!

I noticed you got your RDX before our big snowstorm earlier this year. How do you think it handled in the snow? Did you need to buy winter tires?

That's awesome! You'll get it right in time for winter I felt the same way, I traded up from a 2000 Accord. I love Asian cars!

After a year lurking on this site, looks like I can finally join missjennieb and the rest of you as a proud owner of an RDX! Negotiated and got a CGP Tech for $500 over invoice (CAN) with all-weather mats thrown in and a $200 discount on the front spoiler.

Going back in later this week to talk extended warranty. Can't wait to take this bad boy on its first ride!

Congrats and welcome Boon! Wow that's an awesome deal. So how much did the spoiler come out to? Did they charge installation?

Great news for you!
What dealer did you uses in Toronto. Was it an 07 or 08?
My 08 should be in within the next 2 weeks but I have not negotiated a price yet.
Anyone interested in an 03 Murano / 54,000km ?

It did quite well in the snow. Handling / VSA / SH-AWD all works great. The Mich. tires were ok, but snows would be much better. I wanted to see how the OEM's worked. If I get new wheels, I'l use the stock rims for snow tires in the winter, (or I might just get GY fortera's for year round!)

Hey guys (& girls), thanks for the welcome. It feels good after having my eye on this car ever since the first photos came out last summer.

GTGT - I got an 07 Graphite Grey (aka CGP) Tech for $41,900. I was actually negotiating in Toronto while a cousin of mine in Hamilton was helping me out there. We ended up going with the Hamilton dealership since they offered us the sub-$42K price first. Although when the dealer at Acura of North Toronto called back he said he would match the price...but it was too late.

I was a bit disappointed because they re-negged on their offer to thrown in all-weather mats, but I was able to get some off the dealer fee and extended 7 year warranty. I might pay $73 for the cargo net though since I haul around stuff often enough.

I'd be interested to hear how your negotiations for the '08 go....cuz I remember they weren't budging more than $200-300 when the '07s first came out. RDX is just too popular up here in Canada.

Boon-
I would assume that the price you paid was without the freight and PDI cost of $ 1,775. Correct? So the total would be more like $ 43,675.
Congratulations also.

Hey casa7, yeah, I found it very hard to negotiate on the freight/PDI....seems to be one of the things each dealer stands firm on. I forgot to search this forum on that topic so I could be mistaken. I just went in trying to get the price under $42K and then deal with everything else as it came along.

I'm just looking at the sales tax...man does that 14% pst/gst sting!

Lrbpa300 - yeah, there's no substituting CGP. Money aside, that was a big factor in why I decided to by early.

It would never be a primary reason to go 2008 over 2007 (and I speak from experience since I just decided on a 2007 last week), but I couldn't help but notice that in the online manual for the 2008 navi the screen shots show "2007 Zagat", and in my 2007 show "2006 Zagat".

Can anyone confirm the version number in the 2008 navi?

Is it possible to get the updated DVD for the '07? Not that I need to...but it might be nice when 2009 rolls around.

Go to http://www.acura.com and click Acura Store at the bottom of the page. You'll then see Navigation Updates as one of the options. They only have 4.56 right now, but that's where you'll be able to get the latest version of DVD eventually.

Awesome. Thanks! $185 is quite a bit for a DVD. No chance of getting it cheaper elsewhere?

The quotes were lower in other states, but it just wasn't worth it to drive over there to save a couple hundred dollars. Apparently Colorado dealers pay a regional advertising fee which is why they can't lower the price. I ultimately bought from Courtesy Acura. Which dealers have you been working with? Maybe you can mention my name and get Courtesy to lower their quote?

I'm excited for another Denverite RDX on the road! It's a GREAT and fun car to drive.

P.S. If you need any negotiating tips, ask JCBridges -- he helped me on getting these quotes!
Greetings. Hoping you're still reading this thread rather than out having fun in your new machine. I'm in the process of talking myself into buying an RDX-tech, and being from Fort Collins am naturally interested in the sources of your quotes...

Any chance you can send me the info?

Howdy guys,

I wanna get 2007 or 2008 RDX in TX nearby Houston. I got a quote from sever dealers and the best quote was this : "My best price on the 2007 is $34,600 Plus TTL $ 1000 less if is cash ...( dealer cash ) so $ 33,600 is your price Plus TTL your drive out with taxes $ 35,985 out the door "

I read above posts so I think It's expensive price. How can I off that price?

and for 2008 RDX the offer $ 1,000 off the MSRP.

Is it reasonable??

dealer cash for mdx???

08 base have lots of refinements but with tech not as much:

memory seat
softer suspension

I would guess you are looking at an overall price difference of about $3000 between an 07 and an 08. Ask yourself if the refinements, new color and newer car are worth another 8% to you.

BTW - OTD means out the door which includes all taxes, license and fees!
Are they offering dealer cash on the MDX as well? Thanks

$1000 off so soon after a new release (the '08 isn't even 2 weeks old!) seems pretty good to me...but I live in Canada where the RDX is selling fairly well. If they're unwilling to negotiate the price any further, try and get some accessories thrown in and see what your total savings are then.

2007 RDX with Tech. Package

I just helped a friend purchase a new 07 Black/Ebony with Tech. Package from a dealer in Michigan for $33,300, including Destination Fee. There were 2 other dealerships we went to and they were telling us their best price was $35,000 +! What a joke! Just make sure they know you know the best price out there and go for it. Another dealer in Ohio was willing to drive one up the 100 miles for free for the same price, maybe a little less, but they did not have the right color combination she wanted. Good luck grabbing the last ones up everyone!!!
