09 RDX colors White Diamond Pearl, Palladium Metallic, Polished Metal Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Royal Blue Pearl, Grigio Metallic, Basque Red Pearl. As before, any can be had in either Ebony or Taupe interiors.
I did not want to argue with him about rollout. I am sure when they show up in June he will have some kind of explanation. I just want to get one ASAP. Thanks for the info about the colors. Will check them out.

Ugh, with the '09 RDX's coming out in June, I would expect we would know the specs by now. I really want a new RDX and the deals on the '08's are getting really good. I just want to see the '09 specs first though .

And considering that we've already ordered the 09 RDX's on April 22nd.

How has it that the dealerships have already ordered the cars and we have no specs? Do you have any specs on it? Or can you just not share with us the details?

We really don't have them. We order by color and how many they tell us we can order Tech or non tech. That's all. If we had them, I'd share. Once I get them, I'll share then too.

Can you give us the numbers that you ordered for your dealership as an example? I am really interested in the grey or silver with ebony interior for a non tech and am wondering how hard that will be to get ahold of right away.

From vtec.net: http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=752737

Excerpt:

RDX While the RDX is only selling at about half of the planned rate of 40000 units/year, it's actually holding its own against its two closest competitors - the BMW X3 and Infiniti EX35. Build-out for the '08 model year is coming up soon, and the first dealer allocation for '09s took place in April, and 09s are scheduled to appear in showrooms in about a month. Changes for the '09 model are expected to be few - if the RDX follows the typical Honda product cycle, the mid-cycle model change won't be happening until next year, for model year 2010.
Summary: '09 should be status quo for the RDX.
Available: Early June
Watch For: Continued tepid sales + Poor MPG + $4/gallon gas = Really Good Deals on RDXs.

Got an e-mail from my dealer Friday and he confirmed June delivery of the RDX, but could not tell me exactly. He said all the units he is getting are ebony leather, but could order me a red/taupe or find one somewhere close to Indy. So, it's just a waiting game for me now. My new car fever temp is up to 102 degrees.

Got another e-mail from my dealer with tentative delivery 20-25 June. All colors except red, white and blue. I guess they are not popular colors for the RDX. Anyone know what the "grigio" is?

Grigio replaces Carbon Bronze. It is already available on the 09 TSX if you want to swing by the dealership and see what it looks like in person.

Thanks for the heads up on the grigio. I am leaning toward the Polished Metallic (Carbon Gray?) now with the black leather.

That's one of my favorites, although I'm pretty partial to the white/ebony combination, Tech of course.

Polished Metal is very different than carbon gray. i had both. i had them parked together, (no pics sorry) and they are 2 distinctly different colors.

carbon gray was darker, whith a dark blue-ish hue to it, in the sun lot of pearl effect much deeper paint than the polished, but kind of dull looking when cleaned

polished metal is def a metallic, that pops a whole lot more, mirror like finish silvery in the sun

i liked the polished metal a whole lot more. just had that pop/wow factor, especially when cleaned.

The '09 RDX manual has been posted here: https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/logon.aspI see no mention of any major changes to anything as far as XM Weather, auto on lights, etc. Wonder what the "minor" changes will be as has been mentioned. You would think if nothing of substance, they would be building and selling the '08s into September. This certainly is puzzling.

About time! Acura never should've skimped on this feature to begin with. I hope there area few minor aesthetic changes to go along with this (smoothing out the grille, TSX dash & console).

I hope the seat style is similar enough that you could put the power passenger seat into an 08 RDX without it looking strange. :/

Or....they could just model it after the Batmobile and call it a day.

Have you seen the latest sales numbers? RDX sales are down 34% from last year and they've only sold 8000 cars so far this year.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2627

I like my RDX but let's be realistic. With the rapid rise in gas prices that aren't going to increase sales of a car that has already been dinged for poor MPG numbers, I don't see Acura putting a whole lot of R&D money into this model. Regardless of the quality, performance, happiness of customers who bought it, this car has not been a success for Acura. I wouldn't be surprised if they run through 1 or 2 more years of very minor changes and then send the RDX to crossover heaven.

09 RDX informations are up at Acura's website. They added 4-way power front passenger seat and a few new colors .. other than that there's no major changes.

The 09 will allow you to open the windows with either the remote or the key.

Thanks for the info. Some changes are better than no changes, but don't know if the increased price will be worth it, assuming Acura does raise the prices.

Are you kidding? Look how much money they dumped into the '09 RL refresh despite its ability to rust on the showroom floor (except for the '05 car.) The RDX will definitely be back for a second generation; the segment is becoming too important to abandon it.

I agree the RDX's days may be numbered unless they can bump up the mgp numbers and/or switch to regular gas. Time will tell. In the meanwhile I will be enjoying my '09 RDX (when they come out) even if I have to sit in the garage listening to the excellent audio system.

The RL is the flagship of Acura's lineup and a 4dr sedan which will never go out of style. They just have to keep trying to find the right combination there, but can never give up.

The RDX is a different animal entirely. All SUVs are feeling the hit of the gas crisis and a vehicle that doesn't have any dedicated purpose (like entry level economy ute or full size family hauler) is going to have trouble as people think more about necessity than luxury.

the RDX has been regarded in certain publications of being Acuras best car out, right now. I would tend to agree when compared to the rest of the models. theres no way they will dump this truck...not with the awards its won and reviews its gotten, when you make something that is regarded to best a BMW in the segment you will probably stick with it....plus the market (with fuel scenarios) will grow not shrink. people (look at GM making the news headlines this week) are moving away from bigger trucks.

yea the move will be towards the smaller suv's/cuv's because while the consume more fuel than a car, they still consume less than a large suv and have a little more room and utility than most regular family sedans.

"Best quality/performance/engineering/ratings" or "best selling"? The former garners awards and publicity, but if that doesn't lead to the latter, then there really is no point in continuing. Acura isn't a charity. If a car makes money, they'll continue to make it. If the current trends continue and they can only sell <1000 per month, they will either drastically redesign or cut the model. It is simple economics.

Are you sure she knows the RDX from the MDX? Easy to confuse if you're not a car person, especially since they both have "DX". I would give her a call back and have her clarify. Unless I hear different I am going with the 20-25 June delivery dates.

P.S. BTW, White92 works for an Acura dealership and he is the one who first confirmed June delivery. My dealer confirmed in early May after telling me in late April delivery would be in the fall. I guess June is fall in Acuraspeak.
