Hi, love my '09 after 10 months of ownership, but a weird problem has cropped up. On startup, after sitting for extended periods (all night, or end of work day to drive home), regardless of outside temp or weather conditions, upon starting I get a series of 2 -3 groans/moans from what sounds like behind the dashboard directly in front of me. Doesn't appear to be coming from the engine bay. Doesn't reoccur while driving, just on initial startup.

WTF is that? AC unit? Anybody else have this going on? Thanks much.

 

Yeah that's a common sound that comes from one of the a/c vents under the dash. Not sure of the fix but it probably needs some sort of lube

 

Its the AC blend door needing to be relubricated. I had this problem for a couple years, with most Acura dealer saying I need to replace the ac blend door motor. Finally got the DIY to lubricate the blend door, and no more noise for 3 months now.

Scroll down that thread and look for posting from NeedForSpeed3685, he posted the step by step instruction on how to fix it. Or if you're not handy or dont trust yourself, you can do what I did, printed out the instruction and have my local Honda dealer performed the fix for me. They only charged me $20 for labor
