Just bought an 09 rdx black on black tech and am just getting used to it (after coming from a manual tsx).

Is there a USB connection ( that plays mp3) within the centre console beside the av plug? It's pushed inside and I can grab it with my fingers but I can't pull it out unless I take things apart.

If there is USB connection then I will take the time to have it pulled out but if not then ill just leave it in there - anyone know?

Does the inside of your center console look like the attached picture? If so, you press the grey button circled in red to release the usb cable

 

Thanks for your help - I don't have this usb cord in my 09 tech. Doesn't the USB come with tech package for the 09?

If that is where the USB should be then what is it that im looking for beside the av plug inside the centre console?

There obviously should be something beside the av plug because its pushed inside I can feel it with 2 fingers but can't pull it out completely or take a look - would this be a light source or USB?

What is beside the av outlet (just to the left) in the centre console?

 

There is supposed to be a light there...sounds like yours is missing.

07-09 rdx's (base or tech) do NOT have usb connectivity. Just aux. '10 and up have them, which makes me jealous.

 

Yeah I'm happy with the 09 and all but a USB would be sweet.

The 2010 are starting to look pretty cool (with the USB, Bluetooth music etc) - at first I didn't like the look and thought the 09 was the way to go - but sometimes I second guess my decision.

It's all good though - I can live without the blue tooth I guess

 

Meh, I knew what I was getting when I bought the car. The Aux input works fine for me, as we only use it when we take a road trip. My TL has the USB and the iPod never gets used. In fact, I end up listening to CD's much more than any other media.
