NSX detailed (The process pics) *Update: Completed*

Finally got around to getting my car @ the detailers. When I purchased the car, it had quite a bit of swirls. Here are some teaser pics he sent me:

^ Just when I think it's perfect, he texted me saying he's going to go over the hood one more time with a micro polish! He does NOT mess around!

haha.. he did call me to ask permission to drive the car. I trust him, so I let him take it for a spin. Most ppl would just take it for a drive without asking.

DAY II:

Here are some more pics.. DF spoiler polished:

Looks sweet I love the half and half shots

I am not looking forward to doing a full detail on my TSX (I am lazy), but at least it will look great when I am done.

Tell him I sent ya and he'll hook you up! Clean Edge Detailing <click> does awesome work as you can see! I don't know any detailers who are as thorough and ANAL as this guy! Not only are his prices reasonable, he uses quality products and doesn't rush anything. He'll work with ya on pricing. Check his website and give him a call/email.

if you need to find a good detailer, go to detailuniversity.com and on their forums that have registered detailers that are very good. BTW synth, that's gonna be a road hazard, its too shiny

- Jealous -

For years I've wanted a 2002-2005 Imola Orange NSX or a 2006 Daytona Sunset Corvette. I love orange.

Looks killer...especially now after de-swirled...I checked out Clean Edge's prices - not bad at all. I used to detail cars during college and used to charge about his prices...that was 12 years ago!

What products does he use? All it said on his site was that they were 'high end'.

OK, car is done and finally picked up! Here is what the detailer sent me:

--------
"So as many know I had the pleasure of detailing G's NXS. I've had it for 6 days and had a blast detailing it. From a distance the car didn't look bad at all but once you got direct sunlight on it, it was really swirled up and was in desperate need of a good claying too as it felt like sandpaper in some areas.

So I started polishing the car with Monzerna Super Intensive Polish on an orange LC pad right after I clayed the whole car a couple times over. After the initial polishing, I polished it again with Menzerna 106FF on a white LC pad to bring the paint up to a high gloss. After that the car was washed again and I then applied a coat of Danese Wet Glaze and then a coat of Ultima Paint Guard Plus sealant.

I let that cure over night and then did another coat of DWG and another coat of UPGP and let it cure overnight again. The next day I wiped the car down with Zaino Z-8. On the tires I used Zaino Z-16 and Eagle One Nano Protectant on the interior. When all was done, the car felt smoother than glass and I saw no swirls when back in the sun.

All in all the polishing took me about 4 days (I took my time as he didn't need the car right back), but I figured I spent a minimum of 15 hours on it. So, here are some of the after shots.

Here's the hood before again.

Danase Wet Glaze is awesome stuff for giving cars that "wet" look.

i just saw a beautiful silver NSX today so i wandered over to the new nsx forums, these cars are beautiful! personally not a big fan of orange but on the NSX after a full detail it looks amazing

I just use one huge shamy to soak up most of the water, and for final drying, I use microfiber towels in one direction. Hopefully this technique will avoid any further swirls.
