Question about rear suspention, stuck bolt
My CL is lowered so I tried today to put on my Ingalls lower contol arm bar on the rear. The outer nut came right off and so did the inner one, but to remove the bar the bolt has to come out of the inner assembly. Does it unscrew or hammer out? I couldn't get my impact on the head of the bolt, not enough space. A 1/2 inch ratchet used by hand wouldn't budge it. Thought it might hammer out, no luck there either. Thanks

You need to get a tie rod remover or something similar from Autozone. It's basically a big fork that you hammer in between the ball joint and the connection point. It'll be pretty tight so just keep hammering away and it will "pop" off.

I think he's talking about the bolt that goes through the lower control arm and the wheel carrier assembly.
They tend to get seized up from all the vibration. They're hardened steel and will snap with surprisingly little torque applied due to being so brittle. I snapped the head off one in my civic and had to take the whole wheel carrier and control arm to a machine shop to have it drilled out with a titanium carbide bit, which ended up snapping halfway through. By the time it was all said and done it would have been cheaper to just cut the control arm and buy a new one.
If it's put together like the civic you can't use a torch either because of the rubber bushing around the hole in the arm the bolt goes through. I really don't have any tips for you other than don't break the bolt.

I don't know what the underneath of a 2nd gen looks like, but if you can post pics, maybe I can help. If it's anything like the 1st gen, an upward amount of pressure takes tension off the bolt and it'll slide right out.

I'm stuck in the same situation. 3 control arms already in... 1 bolt that I can't get out. Its the cam bolt that holds the rear control arm (toe adjustement arm) to the chassis.
It seems like theres a little play in it- i can turn it a little in each direction but can not hammer it out. I tried pushing up the wheel hub to relieve tension but it didnt do anything.
What did you end up doing chuck? Someone help me
