Outlawing spinners?

I read an article about a mayor of some town in the midwest that wants to make spinning rims illegal.

According to the article the mayor was driving his truck hitched to a uhaul and he was about to cross the intersection on a green light when he saw a car which he thought was running the red (when in fact it was just his rims that were spinning)! So the mayor SLAMMED on the brakes and messed up his little truck and now he wants to ban those rims in his neck of the woods and he plans on spreading the word.

Personally i am not a spinner fan but man, how dumb, blind or distracted do you have to be to think that a parked car with spinning wheels is moving?

1. the guy's a shitty driver.
2. spinners should be nationwide ban due to their ugliness and retardedness anyways.

What they really need to outlaw is the gay ones you get at any auto part store for $20. Those damn spinners really annoy me. I've seen dumb ass kids who kit their rides all out and then put $20 dollar spinners on there..WTF !!

spinners can be dangerous, i was working in the "hood" one day and was standing near my work truck when i heard a loud clanking noise, i turned around and a damn 20" spinner was rolling down the street coming right at me, i moved out of the way real quick and it slammed into my work truck putting a huge dent in the side, it came off of a $300 caprice coming down the road, and the bitch had the nerve to be mad because i called the cops to get a police report and made him stay there....crazy stuff

i'll bet that mayor could get a ruling in his favor somewhere, but it would seem like if they were really causing a serious problem then there would be other cases. personally, i think he's a retard.

i agree spinners are getting played out, esp. by cheap ugly nasty 14" imitations folks put on their fuckin beat-up cavaliers and celicas. but i remember when they first came out...oh god, they were so hot. i think on the right car, they can still look completely ridiculous (in a good way). so i guess im split on the matter.

that mayor has a pretty absurd argument. i feel that they can pose a hazard to young children. i can just see some of them, which are not much taller than the wheel, become attracted by a shimmering, spinning chrome wheel and stick a finger in there. imagine a guillitine.
