need new tires for my cl
hey wassup guys. I need to do a survey on which tires are good on the 97 cl. I need to get new tires but not sure what brand and what type of tires i need to get. The most i will spend on a tire is $125 (each) and i do not have rims so it would be on my stock rims. It would be nice to get some feedbacks from other CL owners on what would be good for a comfy ride, long thread life and good traction.
Thanks!

sounds like you arent too picky about your choices...so find anything that fits your budget is best. Find a bunch of tires that you like and go from there. Check tirerack.com or 1010tires.com (canada) for info
Go for more of a touring tire i guess, a lot of people are going to tell you to go for falken tire (garbage from what i have heard from some people).
I am running the new style Toyo proxes 4 on OE specs 205/55/16 on aftermarket 16x7 (oe wheels are 16x6) rims, and they are excellent tires. I love them and I love my toyos, I also like goodyear and michelins all from experience. I have had toyo winters and Kumho winters now. All great tires.
Stay away from combinations of soft sidewall stiff tread like the general exclaim UHP. Frequency spectrum of that tire does not jive with my car (returned immediately) and I have '97 3.0
Best advice I can give is pick a quality brand, tread pattern you think is effective/cool and go from there. Guys here will debate every tire on the market. All are good, so chose wisely.
good luck
