GC Coils, and KYB AGX's Question

Drivin a 98 3.0. I referred to the Noob Guide lol.

http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/gc1005-02

http://www.modacar.com/bolt-on/produ...4-18198-0.html

Website with GC's was askin for strut type and they only had KONI on there, so im confused lol. Can i not order from there since they're not available as a choice or do i order with Koni's and then get AGX's seperately?

Was lookin at the GC's and AGX's, just wanted to know if anyone had any trouble with em and how they like the products. I figured I would probably get a drop before I got wheels, because im lookin to do a fairly big upgrade. GC's say they give drop about .5-3 In, which is perfect. Any better prices for these anywhere too?

Also was wonderin bout sway bars n camber kits. Thats the section I know pretty much nuthin about. Should I not worry about a camber kit until I get new wheels that have a offset where I want to change it or is that not the purpose? Sway bars i did read about, but not sure if all this is necessary or what it will increase. And sway bars come in front and rear correct? i need both?

Your boy needs some help.

Thanks.

Hmm i don't know anything about suspension really except that sway bars are a great upgrade, and anyhting more than a 2" drop you willl need a front camber kit or you will burn through your tires fast. For the rear check this out, https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-cl-diy-faq-74/rear-washer-camber-trick-w-pics-473539/.

GL man some of the suspension gurus should be here quickly i hope lol.

Ground Control and Koni Yellow's are a great combination. You can pick the spring rate you want and Koni's are a high quality shock that can be shortened, rebuilt and you have a good chance of getting a matching set in comparison to Tokico, KYB etc...

Also, camber doesn't wear out tires, it's your TOE that does that. When having your car aligned without a camber kit, tell the tech you want them to ignore camber and just correct the toe. Trust me... My Civic is lowered almost 3 inches with no camber kit and I still get 40k miles out a set of tires rated with a 40k mile lifespan. When you get that point, the inside of the tire will be bald while the outside still has lots of tread left. This makes it look like camber is the culprit.

Alright, but I'm plannin on Rollin on 18s eventually, how much of a drop can I get without rubbing? Probably somethin I'll have to experiment on my own. And I dunno what rolling fenders is, is it same thing as getting flares?

hmm.. i think rubbing depends on the width of the wheels. im pretty sure i could go lower and tuck 18's without rubbing but its all dependant on the width. im not the guy to ask haha. id talk to fliplyricist or jardbhouston. they know a bit about all that stuff.

Really depends on what size tire you're going to run, plus how low you're dropped

good to see that you're dropping your car the right way the FIRST time around. I currently run GCs and Tokico Illuminas dropped 2" on custom spring rates. Since you have a 3.0, I'd recommend that you go with at least a 350-400lbs spring rate in the front. for the back, I'd stick with a 250-275lbs. If you go any heavier in the back, you'll be bouncing all over the place because the springs will be too stiff.
