Rear Washer Camber "trick" w/ pics
Another write up DIY for fixing the rear camber with new bolts and washers, this time with pictures.
This comes from a Honda Accord forum, but as we all know, the suspension is the same for the CL, credit for write up goes to cokinut.
Here we go....
The New Bolts
New bolts (left) Old bolts (right) and washers
Perfect example on why you NEED a camber kit!
These are the bolts you need to remove and replace
New bolts and washers installed
Look how straight my rear tires are
How many washers should you put in? I think a good estimate is assuming each washer equals 0.25 degrees of adjustment. The acutal amount of camber on the wheel shown above is -0.24 Be sure to go get an alignment after you put on your camber kit! Just because your camber is straight, your tires may still wear because of incorrect toe. I had 50% tread on my tires, after my camber kit install, a week past and the tires were down to the wires because the toe was off.
Bubble between the lines is good.

I did this today to my CL. My only advise, make sure you get the 60mm bolt if you need anything more than three washers, I barley got three to fit on the stock washer. Get fender washers, not cut washers (almost got the wrong ones) and do ONE bolt at a time, I found this to be easier. Dont forget to jack the suspension up!
Bolt = 10mm x 1.25 pitch x 60mm
Washer = 3/8 Fender washer

camber is the only car area that confuses me... so let me get this straight, if i were to complete this rear washer camber trick, would i need to get a camber kit for the rear? if not... then good, less money to spend
BTW, i am going to buy a front camber kit, does ONE camber kit offer correction tools for both front wheels? after i install the camber kit, i need an alignment right? thanks... i just need as much clarification as possible, thanks!

no, this is an alternative to a camber kit for the rear.
recycledpaper, you will need two camber kits. left front and right front.

to keep the back tires from wearing out on the inside....I am doing this Wednesday the 19th so we shall see. SMALLS -- when u had an alignment before the kit, how bad out was yours?? I had mine done with 17's on and they said that it was half degree out. no that i am to 18's would that make it worse and need more washers or should i just start out with 2 and go from there?

on the alignment before hand,
left rear was -1.2
and my right rear was -1.0.
The proper spec for the rear is -1.0 to 0.0. I applied three washers to the left rear and 2 washers to the right rear, which made the
left rear -0.6
and the right rear -0.8,
both are now within spec.
froggy - If you were told it was a half a degree out (-0.5), that would be right in the middle of the spec, making it good to go. Maybe they meant it was a half a degree out of spec. (-1.5) Becuase if you are -0.5 like they made it sound, you shouldn't need to do this.

i also did the trick with the washer and the bolt a while ago. it is the actual kind of camber kit you would get if u purchased a "accord rear camber kit" from ebay. they send u long bolts with many washers. make sure u have two jacks to this. one for the car and one for the suspension. good luck!

Not to be a KIA, but using a level is dumb dumb to me. is the ground your parked on horizontally level? i bet if you turned you car around the level readings will now be way off. maybe thats why you had different readings on each tire and had to use 2 washers on one side and 3 on the other side. I would use a framing square.

most places will guarantee your alignment for 90 days. take allied tire, i got my car done there for 55$ and they guaranteed it for 90 days. for 90$ they would have guaranteed it for 6 months. i got the 90 day one cause i was goin to put my camber kit on and get it realigned (needed to see which kit i needed according to how far off my shit was) but i got deployed and missed out on my warranty.

just did this mod today. Just some tips:
-tape the washers together so that they dont move when you try to put them in. Its very hard to get the washers, the control arm and the bolt lined up. They have to be perfectly aligned in order for the bolt to screw it corectly all the way.
-jacking up your rotor so that the arm goes up will help you align up the holes
the first side took me and my friend a good hour or so because we couldnt get the damn bolt to screw in all the way because it wasnt perfectly aligned. After we figured out those two tips above the second side literally took us 10min

i got 10mm x 60 mm with 1.25 pitch, but the threading only goes about halfway up the bolt.
will this still work, or do i need the threads to go all the way to the head?
i notice the stock bolts are blank at the top, but the ones in the picture are fully threaded
any help?

Your rear tires wore down evenly or just the inside/outside/or middle?
Are you lowered at all and with what?
I have no idea why your rear tires would wear down flat and even unless they're just worn out from normal wear.
When you have a camber issue (which the bolt/washer trick is used to fix) it's because the tire isn't even up and down cause one side of the tread to wear faster.
