I have a 99 Acura CL and I want to put the biggest rim size possible WITHOUT lowering the car. Anyone know the rim size and tire size I need?

We've seen one, and the guy totaled it because it rolled over just as easily as the ford explorers and other suv's. So far the roll over ratio is 1:1 with 20's on the CL.

i think 18's look excellent on our cars. I myself am leaning towards 17's, but thats just me.

Either way, if you switch from stock wheels to aftermarket, you WILL need to drop the car a bit to make up for the bigger wheels.

Damn you losers need to quit sippin on that haterade. I know 18's look good, but I want as little of a gap between the wheel well and the tire as possible, WITHOUT dropping it. We have too many speed bumps in MIAMI and that's just too much of a pain in the ass. THe bigger the wheels you add, the higher the car will sit. Unless you drop it, even 20s will look stupid as the car will be sitting very high.

20's on a first gen CL is pointless unless you going to throw an air suspension on there. Plus whats the point on putting on wheels without dropping the car. If you gonna do it , do it right. If you don't like peoples' opinion don't ask for it.

like I said, 18's with a drop is your best bet if you want to eliminate the gap.

Its called constructive criticism. If you actually took the time to search around for pics (good god theres even a dedicated forum for it) you would see that 20's just arent feasible for the CL. 18's or 19's look the best. As for the pothole/speedbump problem, some of the hottest cl's on here are from florida and theyre all dropped. Im sorry that people like you exsist on this board that have such bad fellowship.


oh and if you think im lame and hating and want to "compete" then how about you throw up a pic of your cl, and i'll throw up a pic of my "plain ass factory car that you can see on acura.com" and we'll see which one everyone thinks is better

i don't understand how most of you guys love the look of bling bling 18's and 19's but when you go one inch bigger to "dubs" or wtf you call them everyone starts saying it's gay

I suppose it's not the fact that they're dubs.
It's the fact that these dubs don't fit correctly... and more often than not, the execution is poor, and ill fitted... (i.e throwing the dubs on w/o dropping, wheels stickin' out... UGLY dubs, etc.)

If I could even fit 20's on my 2nd gen CL comfortably and easy, and without in my opinion, a great deal of trouble, that's what i would love to roll in.

I read somewhere on here, that the biggest you can go with our wheel well is 19" I think the guy that had 20's had to cut part of his inner fenderwell off.

but even if you get 20's you have to upgrade your brake system...to stop faster and better....

Dude stop talkin crap about miami there are also people who like to ride clean and u talking crap about ghetto when u have some ghetto chrome rims on your cl. Im not saying that there is no ghetto rides around here b/c there is, im just clarifying the fact that there is people in miami also who ride clean.

 

O btw 97 black im going with some 19 tsw kyalamis, there nice but the problem is that u have to roll your fenders, from what the shop told me 19" will rub on a bump if droped.
