fwd = no lip. Sell your car and get something RWD. I thought you had a gs400 already? why are you trying to "make your CL VIP then?" nice double post BTW, going to delete the duplicate thread.

I thought u had mad money, and a lexus? Like klepto said, IF you had a gs400, why are you trying to VIP an acura? And if you have mad money and want to go deep dish, ADR is like the complete opposite of all of that.

I've got 3 inch lips on my wisers in the rear
look for pics later tonight
but you can be safe running 9 inch widths all the way around with mid thirties offset w/ stretched tires (not too extreme) and camber. our wheelwells are actually very accomodating
rbwheels.com has tons of what you're looking for.
and if you're trying to get into the 'vip scene' like you're saying, you need to get the f-- out with the ADR talk lolol

omg dude
I saw those
hahahahah
you know, that's actually entirely possible if you're not affraid to completely roll your fenders and run a little bit more stretch than me....and you could avoid the big stretch if you wanted to go balls out and pull your fenders.
like honestly, I'm 8's up front with 27 offset, and I'm tucking quite a bit because of camber. it's just the rears that you'd have to worry about haha
but damn, those on your white cl = /game

i think that fitment might be perfect in my opinion. slam your car and run 205/40 front and 225 or 215/40 rear

no no
like I said, I think 9" all around is perfect...
you'll be able to run 9" all around with mid 30's offset if you run stretched tire and keep the camber at a maximum
you can run 2x offset in the rear with a 9" if you camber it out and roll your fenders all the way
as per the front, from what I hear from the 5th gen accords (basically same as ours) +2x with a 9" is pushing it, even with camber. Though I'm not 100 percent sure on that IMO

just curious, have you mounted a 9 wide in the front?
i think you're gunna have to pull the fender quite a bit to get the 9 to fit perf.
our rear wheel well can accommodate a 9 perf. with slight fender modification and tire/camber spec.

dude
my current setup is 9's in the rear w/35 offset, and im slammed...no fender rolling whatsoever, but cambered in....absolutely any wider/lower offset and I'd be sure to have to roll
but as per the fronts, yes indeed I did test fit the 9's up front all on one side just for the hell of it, and it was absolutely perfect...but yes it was an absolute tight fit
mind you, this is with probably -4 camber...so if anyone does go with 9's up front, please keep in mind you're gonna have to camber the shit out of your wheels to get em to sit right, else you might have to do some pulling

lol yeah that's what I've been wanting for awhile is a low offset big width discussion thread
I was just referring to when you said that our rears could acommodate 9's with slight fender modification...but fender modification isn't necessary if you run the proper tires and with enough camber and good stiff suspension
and I'm absolutely sure 9's will fit up front if they're in mid 30's offset
matter of fact, when I take off the wisers for winter storage, I'll mount the 9's again all on one side and take pics and show you

I hope I'm not bringing this thread back from the dead, but i live not too far from RB Motoring and had been checking out their site along with a few others before I picked up my CL.
Well today for my birthday, I, along with my wife and daughter treated myself to a set of wheels. These - dang, he removed them from the website already, he works fast, lol - well these look very close to what I got -
http://www.rbwheels.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=390
Mine are same design, but Work in 17 X 8 & 9 35 offset (the 44's on the volks dont work in the rear unless you maybe run a spacer, otherwise you rub on everything, trailing arm, spring and upper control arm).
Anyway looking to get tires tomorrow or so and wanted to see what size i should be looking at. A friend in the VW scene suggested 215/45/17 up front and 235/45/17 in the rear, I'm not planning on a slam, but a decent drop, will those be fine?
Class? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone seen this before? Does anyone know what Vice President Bush called this in 1980? Anyone? Something-d-o-o economics. "Voodoo" economics.

sweet pick up man
I was actually eyeing those for quite awhile before I got my current set of rims
as per tire size, I'm not quite sure...since I have 18's and you have 17's
but I'm running 225/40 out back with 205/40's up front with 18x8's and 18x9's and it fits perfectly all around with no modifications or rubbing. I'm running some pretty big camber though. My tire sizes also result in a moderate stretch look which helps clearance. How many finger gaps are you planning to drop your car? Because I can tell you that if you don't run some sort of stretch on the rears with 9 inchers...you're going to rub. You can take a look at my photo threads in the photo gallery to get an idea of how my car sits with this setup
Anyone have a tire/rim size calculator?

Stretch
Thanks, I have to admit your car helped inspire me further. I had been looking at those for quite a while, since sizes for 4x114 is so limited. But yours confirmed that it could be done.
At first i was thinking like a 1 or 2 finger gap, maybe the Neuspeed sports on stock shocks, but then I started looking at the Ground control setup similar to my crx, but on stock shocks for now.
We figured it this way, if a 225 is usually perfect for a 8 with squared shoulders, a 235 should give slight stretch. and the same for up front except going down a size.
I was looking at either Dunlop or kuhmo's (kuhmo's only cause i get a pretty decent price).
We did a test fit today (sorry no pics camera batt ran out) and it looks like it may work. If anything, I may want to add a 3MM spacer out front to flush it out more to match the rears.
Man and this was gonna be a simple daily driver, lol.

Hey Flip, I have 1 more question for you, how much clearance do you have on the inside of your rear wheelwell with the 225's? Plenty of clearance or is it pretty tight?
I still need to pick up my tires soon and need to figure if I'm going to try the 235's or stick to 225's?
Problem is that I get my tires from one place and mounting in another, so it's not like I can try them out for size first.

OKay, just to confirm, i picked up my tires this weekend and Flip is correct. Even on a 9" wide rear, 225 is the biggest you want to go. my 225 has nice nice slight strech to it, and a 235 would have been to square.
#24
oops, sorry I didn't get back to you on that, haven't checked the forum for awhile, but glad you got it right
yeah honestly, I have absolutely NO clearance with the stock rear fenders with my 225's in the rear...even with ~-3 camber. I'm really really thinking about taking the plunge and just rolling them....but I'm just sooooo scared of paint damage.
Can't wait to see pics dude

hmmm, painters tape, never thought about that. Use a heat gun too. When I did the rears on my crx, I did it without and it came out fine, but on the other side there was minor paint damage that made the paint flake more.
#27
hmmm
I doubt painters tape would do anything to help prevent cracking/damage at all
it's like putting painters tape over a painted abs front lip with non-urethane flexible paint...if you warp the lip, it doesn't matter if the paint is on there or not...the paint below it will crack. if anything, when you remove the tape, it'll just accentuate the paint damage, because all the cracked paint will come off with it
