Question 16x6 vs 16x7 wheels

We have a 1998 3.0CL. According to the manual, it came with 16x6 wheels.
When we bought the car used, it had 15 inch rims on it.

We tried putting 16 inch Acura Legend wheels on it and they would rub when one would turn the wheel all the way. So we put the 15 inchers back onto it. I see many 16 inch after market wheels are available but most are 16x7.

My question is does anyone know if these after market wheels 16x7 will fit the CL or will they rub like the Legend wheels did?

PS...I really don't know why the idiot who owned the car previously put 15 inch rims on it. Can only figure he must have gotten them for cheap.

Thanks.

Its by 7 and the legend wheels are 5 lug if I'm not mistaken that is why it wouldnt fit.

yeah I was thinking that too. Hmm why don’t you just buy some aftermarket 18's, that way you don’t have to worry about the 16's Just make sure the size of the tire isnt too big or small. 225/40/18 has been the best so far.

Thanks

Wow, what a Gang!

Thanks for all the replies.

If anyone was reading carefull I did say that I put the Legend wheels on the car and when I drove it, they rubbed on a ball joint when I turned the front wheels to their max point.

They were from a 1990 4 Lug Legend. DOH!

But thanks for all the help. It sounds like I can go for the 16x7's with confidence.

it might have been just an offset issue with the Legend rims

as long as the 16x7 rim has the correct offset, you should be fine
