Zero RPM issue...
Zero RPM issue...
Hello all,
I've replaced my engine over a year ago & she ran PERFECT! Now recently I've notice that while driving & NOT giving her any gas (i.e. turning or stopping) the RPM gauge will drop to ZERO & she will cut off... She will start right back up but it does this every now & then. If she is about to shut of due to RPM dropping to zero & I gas her up, she will continue driving, she only shuts down if no gas is issued now & then.
Any input is deeply appreciated.

the RPM's drop to zero because the engine has cut off. sounds like it could be a lose ground wire or something and when you turn or something its not making contact from the g force and then when it straightens out it gets contact again. It could also be a fuel pump issue but I would check the ground wires and stuff first. It could probably be more things but that is the first thing that comes to mind
I agree it could be a clogged filter or injectors and you may have some moisture in the fuel system that is causing it to cut off like that. It may also be that the Idle adjustment screw needs to be tightened some. Is it idling low consistently when you are at a stop? I would change the fuel filter and put some injector cleaner in the tank. If that doesn't fix it you should probably get it checked out by a mechanic.
