Hey, I have 1997 3.0 CL with a whopping 250,000 miles on it. Recently the transmission is making a wishy washy sound only in park and neutral. When I shift it into drive or reverse, the sound goes away. No other problems with the car other than this. I've always had every service done on time and the only thing I've ever had to replace is the battery and the starter, that's all in 250k miles. I had Acura check it out and they just said the transmission needs to be rebuilt and would cost over $5k. I was either planning to fix it myself or buy a used auto trans with less mileage. Thought I would check here first to see if anyone knew what this problem would be. Thanks!

 

Nobody? I was also going to ask, is there a how to for transmission removal/installation? Thinking of just buying a lower mileage trans and swapping it out.

 

Someone has to know what the problem is.... Anyone??
