have a friend with a 1998 Acura CL 3.0 It has 190,000 miles on it and the car is in very good shape. The transmission is starting to go and from what I read around here, I'm surprised it lasted that long. I have not actually driven the car, but it sounds like it's slipping to me. She checked with aamco and they said a rebuilt would be between $2300 and $4000 depending what was wrong with it when they got inside it.
The car is in excellent shape and has new tires. She's debating doing the trans or just buying a new car. Since it will need a trans and a timing belt in the near future. The vehicle has always been dealer maintained.

any suggestions for a good trans shop in Central New Jersey
Or any idea what the car is worth as is.
