Hey guys new to this site and searched around and cant find nothing related to my problem so thought i would start my own thread. My problem is at almost any speed im going if i have my foot off the pedal and just coast as soon as i just barely touch the pedal again with my foot my RPM's drop a couple hundred before going up, almost feels like the car chokes out a little, also i have had my car die instantly with no giving reason, my stereo stays on and i can just put the car into Neutral and start the car again, it has happened at 100km/h and also while going 40-60km/h. i don't know if this is related to the first problem. Also want to add my engine light has been on for a while now and i bought a OBII reader and shows up as EGR valve, could this be related? i have the new part on order and is coming, also looking at a forum showing how to clean this whole thing and i think thats next on the things to do.

 

there was a recall on the egr, check and see if your car is part of the recall, you could get it fixed for free, with a free tune up

 

even though my car has 217K on it? and what do i do just phone into the car dealer and give them my vin number?

 

The warranty went to 150K miles, not sure about how many km's that is, but it's worth a shot. Otherwise, there are diy guides on here to take out and clean the IM and EGR. I would start there

 

sounds good, im still trying to find out the problem with my rpm drop... i was doing a little reading elts where and it might sound like a TPS problem, but not 100% as of yet.

 

OK have on order the EGR Fix Kit with the tubing and the EGR valve and a new TPS, I'm gonna do the clean of the EGR port and put the new valve on and change out the TPS as soon as i get the parts.
