Urgent help needed. No start after timing belt change!!

Ok, the 3.0 cl timing belt change is a muther as most of you might know. Everything is back together and all my marks are lined up. The car won't start. No crank. Almost as if there's no juice to the starter. Is there a special procedure that anyone knows of that you have to do after 1) changing the timing belt and 2) d/c the battery?
please help if you can

Your post is not clear. When you turn key to Start, does the stater turn engine over but no-start, or starter clicks but engine does not turn over, or nothing but silence?

Check the battery connections carefully.

good luck

No crank, ie starter does not click, hum or do anything. Almost as if the battery were dead. I'm going to try and jumpstart it tonight. Other than that, i have to go through and check for loose wires. Someone told me today that if the system has insufficient voltage, the start system won't work at all. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

For the starter to engage and turn the engine, there must be voltage to the starter solenoid (blk/wht wire usually) from keyswitch and voltage (large red wire) directly from the battery to the starter solenoid. Ground for both are necessary also. The main power is switched by the solenoid. One or the other is likely interrupted to cause no starter action. Note, a dead battery or bad battery connection could cause same effect.

Sometimes a ground wire (driver's side motor mount area) can be left off when doing timing belts. It grounds engine and might cause problem if left loose.

good luck

i got it. the pesky starter solenoid control wire had come loose and somehow jammed itself in a spot where it looked like a wire for some other connector. Starts and runs like a champ
note to self... don't do a 3.0 timing belt again... total PITA

although probably worth it for the gf not having to take it to a shop for $750 plus whatever extra parts they'd want to throw in there.
