I was wondering where you guys here in the north east recomend to go to for a rebuild? Mine is on its last breath. When cold, doesnt want to shift from first and when it finally does, it neutrals for about 3 seconds, rams second finally, then rams third. Fourth is soft. Anyway, recomendations would be great.
Second, what can i do to prolong the life until i get it rebuilt?
Heard starting and letting it run on its own till normal running temp. Good idea? Bad? lemme know.
I know this is going to cost a pretty penny, i just dont want to get screwed!

does it shift fine when its warmed up? if so it could be a faulty linear solenoid. change that and you might just save yourself 2g's. it also depends on how long youve been driving like that. if it just started your prolly aiit, if its been a while and now your just sick of it you screwed yourself.

It started happening a few days ago when it started to get fairly cold here in east PA. When the temp is 70+ there are no problem with it. Once it falls below, it starts acting up. When the engine is at running temp, it shifts as if nothing was wrong. These seem like the same symptons that many people have though when their tranny is about to go or so i have read. See i dont mind that this is happening when the engine is cold, I was just worried that somewhere soon the car might not wanna go... haha. anyway. what you think?
