I have a 1997 3.0cl auto with 148,000

when i first bought it at 140000 the trans would make a very slight jump at 3rd but I changed the trans oil with that fancy dealer fluid and it became perfect.

now 8000 later the trans jumps and slips when the car is cold. after about 4 min the trans is perfect again.

this is my first acura i bought for $1500 and i love it the engine is sooo smooth and perfect. It started getting bad a month ago. Im afraid the trans will go out soon. The cold winter is coming !!! The fluid is freshish at about 5000 on it and full.

What can i do to make this last longer??????? Should i start looking for a new car now? Change fluid? How long might I have?

If this $1500 car has 148000 and is in okay condition but with a super strong engine changing the trans makes no sense right? Now way to get trans and installation cheap right???

 

Kiss it good bye it's almost gone. If u like the car and can find a trans for cheap do it. I sold a spare tranny to a member on here for $400.

 

You could try a tranny cooler and a 3x3 flush and hope for the best. Another member (Fliplyricist) did that recently when his tranny was slipping badly and it seemed to perform better
