Timing belt and H2O pump
Timing belt and H2O pump
I have a '99 CL 3.0 with 95000 miles. I was told by a Honda car salesman that the timing belt and H2O pump should be changed out as routine maintenance in order to avoid a potential "catastrophic engine problem". Is he just blowing smoke or does it need to be done? The car is running great otherwise.
Also, the transmission seems a little confused when shifting. Like it isn't sure what gear it should be in. I was told this was a common problem with the CL 3.0's. Any way to improve it?
Thanks

Timing belt replacement usually goes with : belt, tensioner pulley and water pump as a precaution, bc it is not expensive and reqires same labor to replace (it is actually propelled by tb )
Your engine is an inteference engine (damaged valves occur if belt breaks since pistons and valves occupy same space at different times only as long as belt is intact).
Check Gates Interference Engines
good luck
