My dash light and tail lights went out on my 1998 3.0cl. I checked the fuse box under the hood labeled small lights and the 15amp fuse in their is not blown. Is there something else I should be checking?

I had an issue in my 97 CL 3.0 once where my radio and cig lighter stopped working. The shop guy said all the fuses were fine, and I watched him testing. He tried everything but couldn't get my radio and cig lighter back on. I finally convinced him to just try changing out the fuse I pointed to (there was 1 fuse that powered both before their individual fuses), and it worked.

Basically, sometimes visual inspections and testers can lie. If the problem is a fuse, you can track down all related fuses using a fusebox diagram.

Don't be afraid to change out a fuse you think is already good.

 

no need to change out a fuse by guessing. Use a test light to make sure it works. If it fails the test light, then fuse is bad. Replace as needed.
