SRS AIRBAGS... riddle me this batman.

To my knowledge there are two types of air bags. The kind you un-plug the battery, and they quit working, and the type you un-plug the battery and they continue working. Does anyone know which we have? I need to replace my heater core and even if i un-hook the wiring harness to the air bags do i run the risk of blowing holes in my steering wheel and dash? thanks.

ummm, never heard of 2 different types. I've replaced my steering wheel, and all I did was disconnect the battery.

yeah, i've never heard of airbags that keep working with no power... even if you left your battery connected, chances of setting off the airbags are still slim to none. it's just a VERY WISE safety precaution (wrench+skull=splat)

To dummy proof it, just disconnect the battery, wait a few minutes for everything to discharge, then disconnect the ABS wiring at the steering wheel and passenger dash. You'll probably have to reset the SRS light when you reconnect everything.
