Sluggish / stumbles @ 3k+ or if i punch it ... spark plugs are good

VYEC solenoid has been leaking oil since i put the new block in (20k ago?) and I'm a few thousand over on (conventional) oil & filter change. Fuel filter, or do i suspect the solenoid's got something to do with it? I run tanks of 87 gas 75% and 91 once a month...

thx guys

You don't but were brainstorming his issue. Resetting period may help the anomaly.

He can "think" anything but if it was bad, it wouldn't be on the market. Can it damage something? I'm sure it could but anything used out w/o following directions put on the bottle.

Could be. At this point I'd go and get a full tune-up. It defenitely could be bad spark plugs or even wires. He can have it hooked-up for free at Pep-Boys, Advanced, AutoZone or the likes to get a diagnosis of what it is. Then they'll tell you whats needed whether its full service or plugs, wires, or any other parts.

See my name in my sig?...lol. You can use it. Sure im all for meeting up the me fellow Tarheel Acuraziner's. The won't know its the spark plug gap but the reading the computer shows could mean a spark problem meaning plugs, wire, etc. It'll also tell you if it reads a fuel problem.

Hi bro one of the sponsers of this site posted this write-up on his tsx and other than your need to clean iacv or replace it, This guy noticed a huge difference by nchanging his plugs/ air filter. If you look at his pix, his plugs looked fine but the electrod gap had def changed compared to the new ones. So have advanced check your plugs against a new NGK/Denso Platinum plug. ONLY use those 2 brands... They are best for hondas.

haven't had the time to get to autozone during business hours. have run half a tank of 91 gas through (valero, dunno if that's any better than 87 arco) and still doing the knock thing. Very irritated. Cleared the CEL with my reader forgot to do disconect the battery, will do tomorrow.

what kind of scan am I requesting at AZ?

on a brighter note, may be buying my wife an odyssey tomorrow, that's exciting. Ditch the 97 TL and start tinkering with my CL again - driver's axel / fuel pump / whatever this is, blackhouse & get some mini h1 projectors into my spare headlamps...

Code check. do NOT reset battery or you would have cleared the codes. As far as those gas stations, I have never heard of either. Why not get real gas like shell/exxon/mobile. Stuff like GoGas/Handy Hugo are crap. You arent helping matters by buying that stuff.

so, idle is good, but your car stumbles at higher rpm's still?

Does your CEL flash (engine misfiring)?

yes, hardcore wobbly. I'm wodering now if it's related to my cv boot being open up front left?

no CEL until i seafoamed and not again since. Runs normal temp, normal mileage, no gas smell except once (yesterday after it sat for 3 days)

Awesome bro. Do a favor and go easy on GD . You might not mind the use of it (I don't but i also refuse to use it) but it's gonna offend people i'm sure.

So segwaying to you car issue. How did you find out? My civic had axle prob but it had awful vibration at hwy speed.

Congrats on the find.

Noticed like a gallon of grease all under the left side & the entire wheelwell, saw a major slice on the boot. Think i left it open so long it dried out and started to grind, although i'm confused why it wouldn't be grindy and noisy at low speeds as well
