Could be your Idle Air Control Valve.

If I replace the throttle body, does the car computer need to be reprogrammed ?

Do you know where to find a label diagram of the throttle body and all the sensor locations

There are 3 sensors

one on top

one on left

one at the bottom

which is which

Did you reset the ECU?

Pull the positive battery terminal for about 5 mins, that will reset your car

If you feel like burning your money in a new $300 throttle body then do so. Remove your idle air control valve and clean with throttle body cleaner. It will take you appx 20 minutes. Full results in 10 hours or so...

someone got a used throttle body and was told they needed their car computer to be reprogrammed in order for the throttle body to work correctly

the original and used part had the same symptoms

maybe original is ok and just needed to be cleaned

can someone tell me what the three connections to throttle body are

are there any diagrams one can give me pointer to

For what. I believe its a 12v, signal voltage to ecu and a ground. You still arnt listening. You have a dirty iacv. In the process u can clean your tb as well

Throttle body is not a control module, so why would the car need to be programmed in order to use a new one? Someone was trying to make a quick $$$....

Listen to this advice. clean our ur iacv and TB, reset the ecu via pulling the batter terminal for 5-10 mins and see what happens after.

Will take IACV off throttle body and clean it up

Hopefully that solves problem

p.s.

the other question on throttle body is unrelated ... i just wanted to know whether replacing a throttle body does require that car computer needs to be reprogrammed

found out that they didn't say "reprogrammed"

the person was told on phone by both a used parts dealer and acura dealer that the it needed to be "relearned". person not sure what that meant. acura dealer told him it would cost $100 dollars to do it.

if i have more info i will let you know

lol $100 to "relearn" the TB? You're doing the same thing by doing a battery reset, the ecu will relearn itself from your driving habits

Question

When the IACV is removed from throttle body, there is a gasket that needs to be replaced. Where can one find the gasket for it.

There are 2 small o rings
No need to change
Ive cleaned mine like 4 times and have never replaced them. You can flip them over if you want to. No real pressure up in the joint
