rear speaker lines dont work when speakers are mounted????

rear speaker lines dont work when speakers are mounted????

i finally got around to installing my 6x9 and when i screw it in and make a connection the speaker doesnt work but if i hold it in my hand in the trunk and connect it works?? anything i should know about the wiring in this car? i got the front components in fine but with the rear i got nothing.

your speaker wiring is touching the frame somewhere so instead of the power going to the speakers it just goes to the body of the car. it may be the speaker having faulty wiring from my point of view since it works when u have it in your hand and not when mounted if it was car wiring it wouldnt work either way.

Couldn't tell you bro, ever since my speakers went out, I had to get it done professionally because I'm NOT!!doing another rewire>..NOT FUN!

i doubt its grounded out wiring, but check for frayed or missing insulation along the wire. More than likely, your connector or connection is faulty. See if the pins on the plug move in or out, or if where the pin is crimped to the wire is frayed/torn.
