possible exhaust gasket issue

Its been a while, and I'm ashamed that I haven't fixed it sooner, but I believe that my exhaust gaskets are shot. I turn the car on and it honestly sounds like when you were a kid and put a card in your bike wheels to make it sound like a motorcycle. Its very loud and incredibly embarrasing. I can only assume its the exhaust manifold right in front because its the loudest there. However, I cannot for the life of me find the right gasket to replace it with.

I'll go to Schucks or AutoZone or where ever and they look up exhaust gasket and I get a ring gasket. Which is very wrong.

Is there any gaskets that are the same such as like from an accord or something? I didn't see anything about gaskets in that noob thing otherwise I wouldn't be asking. I would really not want to go through Honda to buy a new one because its expensive as all hell and I don't have alot of money to work with right now.

There are only two type of gaskets for the exhaust manifold. (1) The Exhaust Manifold Gasket between the engine and manifold. (2) Exhaust Flange Gasket between the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe.

Depending on who you go to (Honda, Acura, Advance, AutoZone) just give them one of the part numbers below. Look at the diagrams below to validate the part you need. You can search the Felpro, Beck/Arnley part numbers at Advance auto parts and AutoZone's website.

Compare prices. From my experience, local Honda/Acura dealerships tend to be slightly higher than the ones advertised in the diagrams below. But shipping and handling fees for these less than $20 items tends lean in the local dealership favor.

If that doesn't work, just get a large intake off eBay to cover up the sound. Good luck.

Exhaust Manifold Gasket
4-cyl. OEM Part No. 18115-P0A-003. Item #3
4-cyl. Felpro Part No. MS94184
4-cyl. Beck/ArnleyPart No. 037-8021

6-cyl. OEM Part No. 18115-P8E-A01. Item #3
6-cyl. Felpro Part No. MS96166 (autozone/advance auto parts)

Exhaust Flange Gasket
4-cyl. OEM Part No. 18212-SB2-961. Item #9
4-cyl. Felpro Part No. 60776 (autozone/advance auto parts)

6-cyl. OEM Part No. 18212-SA7-003. Item #9
6-cyl. Felpro Part No. 60578 (autozone/advance auto parts)

See, my issue is that it looked like it would be a flat gasket not two ring gaskets like that. Thank you so much, thats a huge help.

I went to a Smyth Automotive and i told them i needed an exhaust manifold gasket for a 97 Acura CL 2.2 and they brought out exactly what i needed. None of that ring crap. I think you've got it under control but also check to make sure all your bolts are tight (esp. the 3 leading from the exhaust manifold to the downpipe).
