No oil change for more than 10k miles!

Hello all,

as some of you might know, I just aquired my first Acura ever: '99 2.3Cl with 58k miles.
While buying it from her, the owner (an old lady, that's always good) confessed the last oil change 'PROBABLY' was at 49k miles. A year ago.
I checked the oil, it was pretty low, and disgustingly black and sludgy.

I've been driving the car for 2 days now.
I had the oil change done, but I hear (and I hope it's not psychological becuase of the no 10k miles oil change phobia) a low clutter from under the vavle cover.

Now, does not having an oil change for 10k and over a year affect the engine or would it still be fine.
Should I get a motor flush or anything similar?
Any effective and strong additives to oil motor you guys know that could remove any excess sludge from around the pistons.

The owner offered to take the car back if there is any mechanical problem due to lack of oil change.

So could the-no-oil-change in my case have any serious adverse effects of it's all in my brain??

sounds like your due for a seafoam treatment.

Grab a can of seafoam, 1/3 can in pvc vac line, 1/3 in fuel tank, and 1/3 in oil cap, it will clean the sludge out, but you have to get another oil change pretty much right away. Honda engines always have a "tick" to them. i wouldn't worry about it.

would the seafoam treatment be a one-time-sludge-remover-treatment, or should I do it repeatedly in my specific case?
So 1/3 in oil cap, 1/3 in gas tank and last 1/3 where??
Is the sea foam sold in any autoparts store?

Thnx a lot man.

I turly appreciate your advice/help.
I just got myself a can of SeaFoam and will start working on it tomorrow.
What I will do though is pour 1/2 in the gas tank and 1/2 in the crank case. I'm kind of a noob in cars, and I don't know where the PVC thing is on my 2.3. This should do it I hope.

Thnx again.
S.
