Go to an automotive store like Advanced Auto or whatever's in your area and have them pull the code. It's free. Don't be surprised if your trans is toast though.

^dude you haven't even waited a half an hour for a response, and there's not that many ppl on, you have 3 reposts, that won't make ppl want to reply, it'll make them want to you
and it's just plain rude IMO
and since you only have 5 posts total, that means in 60% of your posts you repeat yourself

Yes, an overfill is a problem - but I can't say that's the reason you're getting a CEL.

How did you check the fluid?

tranny problem

i checked it when the engine was warm, put it in park while in idle and checked the fluid.

You're still getting slippage though? I'd suggest draining the fluid (all of it), and refilling to the correct level. Don't take it to a place for a flush - drain and fill only.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the code for the CEL should still be stored, regardless if the CEL is on or not. Which means you could still get it checked.

Find out what codes are set. This may provide a clue to your problem.

Overflow can cause aeration, but a lot of people in the community disagree on what that affect on the transmission is.

I was always told that overfill = increased pressure which leads to premature failure and part wear. But there are plenty of people that will disagree.

Pull the codes and let us know what they are like TexasHonda said.
