Exclamation My Mechanic try to Rip me OFF!? Or what

Sup Fam

Long time. My last post was about my new paint job and lip. Well long story short i was locked up for a bit. My front end started peeling off due to unprofessional fawk who painted it.

I have been taking me car to a mechanic i trusted for the past 3 years. I am posting this to get your opinions.

So long story. I had my radiator replaced. Then when i take my car out the paint shop. Everytime i shut the car off my fans would come on. I told my mechanic about it and shrugged it off saying it was normal cause it was hot. I told him no it never did that. The car then started sputtering when started. I told him about that and he said put some fuel injection cleaner in your gas tank. The car left me hanging one day. had the tow truck take it to him. He said it was the distributor. Changed that. It stilled sputtered when trying to start.

First all i wanted him to do was put in my new bushings. He toook a week to do that i come to pick up the car and says i have a BAD HEAD GASKET!!!!!

I always check my oil at least once a week. I never saw the milky foam only until he told me that it was a bad gasket. Im thinking he put some in the oil on purpose.

I told him does it start? he said yes i took the car. I could not trust the guy anymore with his late work.

So i changed the oil myself did a seafoam treatment for the first time. I put it in the oil before changing it. In the Vacumm line and gas tank. A week later the car is starting fine. I have no issues starting the car or it sputtering when starting.

Even my car stopped overheating. the fans do not come on after i shut her off.

What should i be looking for if the head gasket is bad?

I talked to infammous and he hooked me up with his cousin that has a shop. Im thinking of taking it there and see what they think.

But i wanted to see what an oil change and seafoam treatment can do.

Im i getting ahead of myself?

If it has a bad head gasket, ask him what the compression read, and what cylinder was bad. Then, ask him if he did a cylinder leakdown check.

Good advice from Tim. I would also take it to Chris's cousin's shop. But since changing the oil and such you have no issues with leaks or coolant in the oil or vice versa? Sounds prety shady to me, especially when he put fuel injection cleaner in when you seemed to have a fuel delivery issue

Hey guys.

Tim that is one reason why im suspecting why he is trying to pull a quick one on me. He never mentioned a compression test or which cylinder was pad or leaking.

All i know seafoam is the way to go.

Does your radiator reservoir have any brown gunk in it? I remember reading that can be a sign of a bad headgasket if there is oil in the coolant.

Dude sounds shady.. though good job on pulling her out from there.

hey shadoh.

I've been checking one that and no brown gunk in the reservoir. I also read that the spark plugs can get wet and have not seen it.

My engine is running strong. Won't i notice a big difference in performance or not?

Im going to change the thermostat sometime this week.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Peace

when you change the thermostat, check the coolant also since if its a bad head gasket it will be brown and gunky or have oil in it somewhat. If it starts to act up, def take it where i told you. I'm hoping to get my car back within the next couple of weeks so i can drive down there.
