lost engine codes

lost engine codes

my car has a blown head gasket (i think)the check engine light came on so i was gona check the engine code but the battery had died so i recharged the battery, now there s no check engine light. how can i find out what the code was ? the battery had been dead for a while is it a big deal or just fix the gasket and turn the car on?

Unfortunately, if the battery has been dead for a good amount of time, you may not be able to retrieve the code....Sorry dude....just fix the head gasket and if it is a problem, it will be back again.

yup. the ecu resets itself
