Issue with Starting

So for the last couple of days, when i go to start my car in the morning, i push in the clutch turn the key all the way, and there is no sound at all, the car will eventually start after a couple seconds, but there is no cranking sounds or anything else for that first little bit. Oh and the car is a '97 2.2 5 spd. Also i do have a stereo system in it with a capacitor, and i think the capacitor may be draining power from the battery overnight. If this is the issue though i should hear the starter clicking trying to turn over the car though right? Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated

No action when keyswitch is turned suggests two possibilities; poor battery wire contact (remove and clean thoroughly) or faulty keyswitch assembly. Check cables first, if those are good, then keyswitch is likely. Sometimes a test light on the blk/yel wire to the distributor connector is necessary to confirm the keyswitch is failing.

No capacitor(not even a thumper booster or whatever they call them) could drain a battery. It will charge w/i a few seconds or a minute at most and then is an open circuit.

good luck

your clutch safety switch could be failing and making it not start or like texas mentioned a poor connection will resemble what you are describing,
btw dont waste your money on capacitors they are useless junk.
