I'm getting spark, fuel, and air...why won't it start?
Hey guys, still trying to figure out whats wrong with my car. I've tested for spark and its there, I can smell gas getting pushed through the car when i turn it over, and its getting air. So why isn't it starting? If I jumped a tooth, would it still start? Would it be the ignition issue we have with our cars? Maybe a sensor of some sort? I was driving along and the car just stopped, if anyone has any ideas please let me know, thx

black, Not to hijack, but your post count as of right now when i'm writing this is 18,888... Found it interesting Haha
As for the problem, I'm not too sure. You might be getting fuel, but it might not be enough pressure to keep the car running.. So I say try the fuel pump.. Oh and check your fuses and relays as they can and will go bad after time...
Fuel filter clogged? something along these lines happened to a friend and it was his Fuel filter...
Maybe have your compression checked too?

I cant run a compression test unless the engine runs, I guess I could try a leakdown test instead. Not sure how to check relays and what not, Im just worried im going to spend $500 in fixing random things that didnt need fixing to finally get to the real problem so I'm kind of trying to bypass the whole trial and error thing, but fuel filter is a cheap fix I can try.
with fuses, you just have to check for continuity. see if electricity flows through it. there are times where it doesnt look to be blown, but it ends up that it is.
with the relays, find the one thats for the fuel pump. Then you can take another relay that has the same connection and plug it in. then try to start the car. If that works, well then your relay was bad and you have to get another one. I think thats the only way you can check them, however I may be wrong and there might be more ways. Thats how I always check them if I have a problem. And by find another one i mean that you take one from the horn or something like that for example and use that one as a test..
I thought that when they check compression, they pull one of your plugs, disconnect the relay and fuse to the pump, put in the gauge instead of the plug, and crank the engine a few times to see where the gauge goes up to.. Once per piston... I may be wrong though...

have you tried getting jumped by another car? long time ago in my legend, the car wouldnt start.. the ignition would roll over and everything.. but it wouldnt start.. and when i got another car to jump my car, it started up fine.. and after that incident it never happened again..
maybe just luck.. but it wont cost you anything to try

do you think the haynes manual would explain how to check relays? I appreciate you trying to explain but when it comes to my cars electrical, what you said would mean the same to me if you said it in arabic (which I don't know lol)
I got the haynes manual for the 94-97 accord and it said for trouble shooting an engine that rotates but doesn't start that it could be
1. ignition components could be damp or damaged
2. broken, loose, or disconnected wiring in the starting circuit
3. loose distributor is changing ignition timing
4. broken, loose, or disconnected wires at the ignition coil or faulty coil
5. leaking fuel injector(s), faulty fuel pump, pressure regulator
any of those sound familiar to any guys with this previous problem? I have a feeling its going to be something electrical..

hey i just had the same prob in orlando. i checked every thing i got spark i have compresson my timming is on mark changed computer checked fuelpress checked fuses checked injector still woldnt start. so i checked the coil agin for the hell of it. and i noticed it had verry lo spark. but still didnt make sence it had enuf spark to do the job. but i was wrong it was a msd blaster coil so after one hole wasted day i got a new one and sure ass shit it worked.
