Idle issue

Hi everyone I'm new here

Recently purchased a 99 3.0 CL mainly because I got a good deal but now I love it, only issue is if I drive the car get it good and warmed up then stop for say an hour when I try to start the car again it(ocassionally) has very poor idle and has even outright stalled a few times, when I get it started if I hold a high idle for a few seconds it will generally smooth right out and run fine with no further drama. Had my mech check this out and he managed to duplicate the issue but found nothing out of parameters,,,i.e. the egr showed normal, tps was good etc
there is no engine code or light when this happens,

our best guess is that the fuel pump may be getting weak/going out, is this a logical probability, I changed the fuel filter recently and even though this car has had all of it's scheduled maintenance done by the dealer right up to the timing belt change at 104,000 miles (20K) ago there was quite a bit of nastiness coming out the back of the filter,,, did not solve the problem but could have been overworking that pump for quite awhile

if any of you think the pump could be the problem can you recomend a mfg, I've looked online and there are quite a few available, I would normally go with the honda part but I read that the pump was kinda weak on this car to begin with and an aftermarket pump was the way to go.

Thanks in advance
any help is appreciated

In the 4-cylinders and any throttle body system, this is usually a idle air control valve (IACV) problem. IACV gets dirty and sticks closed causing too little air to get into engine and very low, unstable idle. Solution is access and clean the IACV. I don't know where the IACV is located or how much trouble this job is on the 3L V6.

good luck

IAC. Dont bother cleaning it. Just replace it. Its worth the $50. Mine just took a big shit and my idle at 1500revs or 2000revs or 500revs or 0 revs. I stall 10-20 times a day. Its driving me insane

Any idea where the IAC is located at? Is it attached to the throttle body?
